The Bamboo Tree
A young gardener planted two seeds: one was a flower, and the other was a bamboo seed.
Within a few weeks, the flower bloomed beautifully. Everyone admired its colorful petals.
But the bamboo showed no sign of growth.
Months passed. The flower continued to bloom, while the bamboo remained hidden beneath the soil. People laughed at the gardener.
“Why do you keep watering something that doesn’t grow?” they asked.
The gardener simply smiled and continued caring for both plants.
Five years later, the bamboo finally broke through the ground. In just a few months, it grew taller than every tree in the garden.
A little girl asked the gardener, “Why did the bamboo take so long to grow?”
The gardener replied, “It wasn’t doing nothing. For five years, it was growing strong roots underground. Without those roots, it could never have grown so tall.”
The girl looked up at the towering bamboo and understood.
Sometimes, the most important growth happens where no one can see it.
Moral of the story: Never compare your journey to others. Success takes time, and a strong foundation is the key to reaching great heights.
