Sometimes you don’t realise something is ending until you’re already looking back at it.

I wrote this one with a nod to the end of summer, a nostalgic look at the close of something special and the moments that stay with you longer than you expected.

No sunshine, no perfect summit views, and plenty of wind, rain and cloud — but that’s part of it. You don’t head into the mountains because the conditions are always perfect. You go because being out there makes you feel alive.

Another day outside, another few miles in the legs, another reminder that life feels pretty good when you keep moving forward.

There’s something about the end of summer that feels like the end of something special.

The sunsets last a little longer. The roads get quieter. You find yourself holding onto moments you know won’t come around again.

Eyes in the Headlights is my soundtrack to that feeling. A melodic house track inspired by late-night drives, reflection, and the memories we carry forward.

Apparently this has become an annual tradition. 😂

This popped up in my memories from exactly a year ago.

Every summer I seem to step back for a few weeks.

Last year it was because I’d gone all-in on music and needed to recharge.

This year life has simply asked me to put my energy elsewhere for a little while.

The difference is that I’ve learned not to see taking a break as failing.

It’s part of staying creative for the long term.

The music hasn’t stopped.

There are still releases lined up, I’ll be back soon enough.

Thanks to everyone who’s still following the journey.
