11:00-13:00 Late Morning Snack Show w/ Tommy Cross
Tommys got the mid morning snack slot covered this Friday. You know the drill. Boogie, Dub, Disco, Trip-Hoppy delights to go from morning to afternoon.

13:00-14:00 Pollinate
Jess and Leah talk all things grassroots music venues as spaces for music to be shared and shaped. Covering some of their favourite shows, and the importance of independent community sites

14:00-15:00 New Materials
New Materials is an irregular party and radio broadcast with a loose music policy: all welcome, all dancing. Founded in Swansea by DJ Bort and Solar Plexus, it reappears in Manchester to take over Steam for an hour.

Explorations into mellow oddities, wiggy guitars and of course a healthy dose of dubbed out post-punk to get your weekend off to a flyer!

Independent soul artist and sought-after topline vocalist Yemi Bolatiwa has worked across genres with Chimpo, Metrodome, Obeka and plenty more. Stepping into her own lane of soulful r&b, and on the brink of her debut album this powerful and versatile artist’s live sound blends deep soulful textures, jazzy riffs and luxurious viola strings.

We are super excited for a really special show coming up this Friday evening. Yemi Bolatiwa will be coming into the studio for an intimate solo live PA show from 6-7pm.

As an independent soul artist and sought-after topline vocalist, Yemi Bolatiwa has worked across genres with the likes of Chimpo, Obeka and Metrodome, as well as supporting Riot Jazz, Ezra Collective, Annie & The Caldwells - and lots more!

On the brink of her debut album and fresh off the MOBOs Talent Programme, she’s stepping into her own lane of soulful r&b - blending deep soulful textures, jazzy riffs and luxurious viola strings, with an air of Toni Braxton, Brandy, Sade and Lianne La Havas.

We hope to see you live at OverDraught this Friday!

We’ve got a lovely albeit slightly quieter day of radio for you beautiful lot.

14:00-15:00 Sun Lounger w/ Poolside Pumpers
Poolside Pumpers are Liverpool-based DJs and Yeti Wang Long term residents of Liverpool’s iconic Kazimier Garden , their sets drift through the space between sun-drenched Balearic rhythms and deep, rolling house pumpers.

They’ve soundtracked dance-floors across the North West including 24 Kitchen Street, Baltic Weekender, The Merchant, Gottwood and Renae and broadcast regularly on Steam Radio, Alto Radio, as well as the likes of NTS, Crop Radio and Melodic Distraction.

This month, Poolside Deejay takes things horizontal, with an hour of chilled out 90s downtempo.

15:00-17:00 Levy Down Low
Join Bouke, Goodman & Simon..Oz for 2 hours of social awkwardness on the mics but some belting tunes to fill the gaps. The Levenshulme regulars are venturing into town centre for their next party, 31st July welcomes Levy Down Soup.

Hello hello, we’ve got a quiet but lovely day of radio planned for you all.

13:00-15:00 Bodipa
Bodipa is a dynamic production and DJ duo comprising Levi Love and Stallone. Their name, derived from the South African Setswana language, loosely translates to “Deepness,” reflecting their deep-rooted love for Deep House music.

15:00-17:00 Lupini (R)
We’ll be revisiting lupini beautiful breakfast show from earlier in the year.

17:00-18:00 Holba
Holba brings a fresh collection of sounds picked up along her adventures in Spain. Expect global folk, soulful selections, experimental jazz, and a few electronic bits thrown in, all with an undertone of Latin rhythm to ease you into your Saturday afternoon.

Coming up this afternoon we've got Liverpool's bringing the soulful house, amapiano, funky and hip hop vibes from 12-2, followed by Oscillations with W^ aka W^ . Will is an experimental new wave and indie artist from Glasgow, now based here in Manchester.

We've got a rerun of a November .s Bizliotheque show at 3, before squeezing in an extra NoPopNoStyle w/ from 5-7, broadcasting live from his home a bit further down the Mersey. Enjoy!

Club Rez kick off their bimonthly residency with us this sunny sweltering Saturday! Based in Sheffield, Club Rez is a grassroots collective championing forward-thinking club music and pushing underrepresented sounds to the forefront of the city. Catch them every other month 11:00-13:00.

Plenty of radio to get stuck into so steam is the place to be! aka Silene joins us 1-3 for a voyage of shifting moods and sensations, traversing through sounds, textures and spoken word. .mcr are back, highlighting the best Manchester has to offer.

Here ye here ye! A new resident joins the ranks! Today we welcome katie 😽 to the steam airwaves for her show ‘Mull it Over’. After Karcie was part of our DJ workshop back in 2024 and playing on steam during our stint in Stretford, we felt a residency was only right. Catch her on the second Friday of the month, every other month. This first edition… Blackpool! “Back on air with an afterglow of all things that made .uk one to remember, featuring tracks heard, Blackpool’s local talent and songs heard whilst sat by the pier. A silly mash up ramble to get you through your Friday afternoon.”

We’ve had a slightly quiet day planned featuring a wonderful show from our delightful Dish Selector.
Between 4-5pm you’ll be listening to an ‘An audio diary of my first two weeks on my trip around Japan. From Kanazawa to Takayama, Osaka to Kyoto. Field recordings on the ground and a selection of my favourite tracks from artists out of Japan...’

Spinning the best in italian horror soundtracks

Writer Anne Billson explains, “The Giallo Sound is typically an intoxicating mix of groovy lounge music, nerve-jangling discord, and the sort of soothing lyricism that belies the fact that it’s actually accompanying, say, a slow motion decapitation”.. Love to Steam Radio for having us.
