Uh oh we're back with the dubious free online photoshop replacement. Some of steam's nearest and dearest will be making the perilous journey into town to run tunes at in for a little free entry bank holiday party tomorrow.

Apologies to freight for vandalising your lovely poster.

We'll be kicking off at around 8pm after a day of maximising as much sunburn as possible, and will be wrangling between records, sunstroke and tequila based cocktails until midnight.

It's a nice little intimate space, we'll be digging out some special tunes, it will be a fun time. Hope to see you there.

Tonight in the bar!

✨ OG OR Man

6-8pm

Both the benign overlord and work horse of steam's programming, our longest standing resident has been putting out biweekly Sunday night shows for the last 4 and a something years. Even the temporary closure of the station hasn't stopped him from sticking new stuff out on our Mixcloud. These shows are always a treat, zooming around between genres and often showcasing new sounds from around the north west.

10-12am

Babs has been hosting a late night Friday show for the last couple of years, and is always picking out weird and wonderful tunes and zoning into interesting niches from around the globe. Her most recent show also showcased some original production, a leftfield dubby number that we're really excited for. Definitely one to watch!

✨ station44

12-2am

station44 runs pure euphoria.fm here on steam, a residency that really does what it says on the tin. A deft producer of ethereal and atmospheric ambient, station44 is also no stranger to shelling it in a club setting. Excited to see what he brings out for these final 2 hours!

Today is the day! Back for our first broadcasts since mid Feb, live from the lovely . Head on down from 3pm to work your way through the 30 odd beers on their bar, soundtracked by fewer than 30 but still a significant number of steam residents. We will of course be broadcasting the whole thing in the usual place. Introducing the rest of today's lineup...

✨ Maya Lily and Emora

and only got to do one breakfast show for us before the Taphouse disaster struck, which is a real shame because their warm, soulful selections were the ideal accompaniment to a croissant and coffee combo. This time though they're moving into a dinnertime slot, so expect an eclectic bag of records from around the globe that'll certainly pair nicely with any meal plan.

✨ Steel Traxx

's Forgotten Groove shows were a real highlight of steam Saturdays over the last year. Will's been putting out some slamming percussive bass sounds recently - last summer's release on was a real treat, as was his weighty addition to the vol 1 compilation. His radio shows often take the pace down and explore all sorts of lush sounds between the heavy hitters, so we can't wait to see what he pulls out of the bag tonight.

✨ Jarvis Bitcoin b2b Jess Rose

Two worlds collide with this super special debut b2b! and met through facilitating .mcr workshops, and both share a passion for music and inclusive spaces. Jess Rose champions Brazilian electro & funk, with a penchant for uk hardcore, garage and trance. Meanwhile, Jarvis has been known to favour left field heavyweight club tunes — expect guttural bass, sizzling rhythms and plenty of emotion. Can't wait too where they take this 2hr closing set!

Introducing the first couple shows for tomorrow's broadcast day! We'll be setting up shop from 3pm, and running 10hrs of tunes and chat for the goodest friday of them all.

✨ Sounds of Resistance

aka Kusasa and .hart 's Sounds of Resistance show explores protest movements and the music that soundtracks, shapes, and drives them. Frustrated with the lack of political presence within much of contemporary music, they look to unpick the intersection between music and protest and over the last year dived deep into topics spanning thatcherite Britain, Sudan, Palestine, rap, reggae and many more. Excited to have them back in the steam booth for this one!

✨ Recollections w/ Shadeda
shadeda is a busy man at the moment. Between running exciting new hifi party .mcr and supporting the likes of on Saturday (yes this is an official steam radio plug for 1st bday at ), it's a miracle Shade has time for any kinda radio business. But he'll be back in the booth for Recollections, a show that was initially inspired by tracing vinyl discoveries in Manchester's charity shops. Expect soulful and blissful tunes all round.

published this piece about the Taphouse's closure yesterday, with some wise words from . Goodbye to a really unique space. When it was at its best it was an island of joy and creativity, surrounded by a city that only cares about both insofar that they can be branded and commodified. There's a lot we could say about this closure but we'll resist ranting on the feed – corner any of us in a pub though and we'll happily chew your ear off for a few hours.

We are making some headway towards securing a studio, but the era of uncertainty continues for the time being. Keep those fingers crossed.

It's our final day broadcasting from today, at least for a fair while. Kicking things off at midday is , who'll be bringing a lunchtime vinyl mix of soul, dub, boogie and hip hop.

Also got shows from , , and , plus maybe some nostalgic reruns from our early days.

If you're free today it's worth popping through to the Old Abbey for 'Pubs Matter', a full day and night party with workshops, quiz, meal, live bands and DJs. All pay-as-you-feel on the door, raising money for ! Might even spot some steam crew on the decks.

13 hour day coming up, taking you from 10am through til 11pm. It all kicks off with a soothing mix of folk, existential ambient, disco and classical from , ideal for purging any remaining friday night demons. takes the reins at 11 with two hours of music from across the African continent and diaspora, before heads in a more wiggly dancefloor direction at 1pm.

Moving into the afternoon and we've got everything from Salford krautrock to Stockport experimental electronica with at 2, global eclecticism with Makeda at 4, latin explorations with at 5, and balearic bliss with at 6.

Expect things to move in a bassier, uptempo direction with shows from and .wats0n, dropping in from Berlin and London at 7 and 8pm respectively.

Heading into the final hours we've got an episode of Radio Giallo dedicated to the maverick film director Lucio Fulci at 9pm, before Oblique Universe rounds us off with some late night ramblings and assorted musical shenanigans at 10pm.

We are back on air today, broadcasting from 10am through til 9pm tonight. It's a sunny day, it's one of our last live days in the current studio for a while, and we've got a lovely lineup of shows to see you through the work day coffees and into post work pints. What's not to love?

Up today:

is on at 10am with two hours of mid morning snacks and assorted tunes. Expect pastries, call ins and eclectic musical fun.

brings a midday special of Giant Lover's Lighthouse, excellent vibes to enjoy with your lunch. Push the boat out and grab a premium meal deal?

At 2pm a couple of steam's senior management will be taking over for two hours of straight nonsense – avoid this one if you can – before seizes control of the tunes for a sunny afternoon RIxY's Radar at 4.
k_ is in for Mixed Signals at 5pm, probably taking things in a more percussive, bass heavier direction, before .music jump on at 6. Apparently Izzie recently cleared a 2nd shop out of all their Donna Summer records so expect a fair helping of that.

is up at 7 with an eclectic and ethereal set of tunes to sail you into your weekend, before brings us to a close with some likely heavier, uptempo flavours.
