Over the last few months a group of young creatives from Rochdale have worked with social enterprise SharpFutures to develop their content creation skills through a series of workshops which led up to creating this film about the FAB Youth Arts Festival that took place in Rochdale town centre
Over the five weeks the group learnt about production planning, filming, editing and working collaboratively to bring their creative ideas to documenting . On the day of the festival the challenge was to capture as much of the activities as possible, from film screenings to poetry readings, mural painting to gaming, music performances to circus shows to the final carnival parade and much more!
Each member of the group contributed by filming content, recording interviews, planning the shots and afterwards they visited SharpFutures at The Sharp Project, a digital production hub, to learn more about careers in Greater Manchester’s creative digital sector and recent developments in Rochdale including the launch of the film office, supporting TV and film production in the borough.
The film features content created by each of the young creatives, supported by the SharpFutures social media team.
Thank you to Rochdale Creates, Rochdale Youth Service and Rochdale Development Agency for supporting the project and for Hopwood Hall College for sponsoring Fab Youth Arts Festival.
& thank you to all of the young creatives for being involved in the project, we look forward to seeing their next steps in whatever careers they chose to pursue.
They can all be very proud of their excellent work in making this film!
