THE UK NEW SETTLMENT RULES – PROPOSED. 🇬🇧🇬🇧
UK Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood recently announced new proposed UK settlement rules.

1. The starting point for settlement will move from 5 years to 10.
2. Applicant must have no criminal record.
3. English proficiency to English to A-Level standard.
4. Must have made sufficient National Insurance contributions.
5. Must have no must have debt in this country.
6. English to a degree-level standard - a 9-year path to settlement.
7. If a higher rate of tax payer then could qualify at 5 years.
8. Top rate taxpayers - qualify after 3 years.
9. Public service – including doctors, teachers, nurses – would qualify after 5 years.
10. While those who volunteer, subject to this consultation, could qualify at between 5 and 7 years.
11. Refugees on core protection will qualify for settlement after 20 years.
12. Illegal migrants and arrivals reliant on benefits face waiting between 20 and 30 years to settle – the toughest in Europe.
13. 5 year pathway for skilled frontline public service workers.
