Kickstarting this evening from 9pm, tune into catch Stu Allan’s legendary ‘Bus Diss’ radio show recorded on the 16th September 1990!
A true pioneer of UK Hip Hop and dance music, Stu Allan’s “Bus Diss” show on Piccadilly Radio in the late ‘80s and early ‘90s was a must listen for Manchester’s underground scene. Known for dropping the freshest US imports, local demos, and unreleased tracks, Bus Diss gave a raw, unfiltered platform to a generation hungry for Hip Hop. Stu’s high-energy mixes, DJ skills, and dedication to the culture made the show legendary — shaping tastes, influencing artists, and inspiring bedroom MCs and DJs across the North.
These shows were more than entertainment, they were a lifestyle. A DIY education, A blueprint for building a scene.
Now the next generation of youths is making sure they’re never forgotten. Tapes degrade. Sounds fade and the stories behind them risk being lost forever. Now, they’re back on air where they belong.
