Sequential Circuits OB-6 🌀

One of our flagship polysyths here at Portal Studios, for lush pads and thick chords, it’s a great compliment to the Juno-60.

Its voice spread blows me away every time as it splits the voices across the left and right—sounds absolutely massive in the right context!

Ludwig Speed King Pedal!

This pedal is slightly hit or miss, and a possibly controversial choice, but I love this poster! Freshly cleaned and oiled this pedal plays amazing, and the direct drive helps with articulation. After a couple of weeks of use, you learn how it earned the nickname ‘squeak king’, but with proper care and maintenance, this bass drum pedal has become a favourite in the studio.

Music equipment ephemera appreciation! ♬

The JUNO-60 is a six voice analogue polysynth first released in 1982 in Japan by Roland.

It is the second in the classic Juno series following the Juno 6, keeping its predecessor’s analogue envelopes, filter, and chorus, which contribute to it’s fatness and snap, and adding patch saving capabilities. It also has the ability to take sequences via the DCB input at the back, and has an onboard arpeggiator which can clock super quick. The Juno’s lush 80s sound is great for pads, arps, leads and basses, making it incredibly versatile and a workhorse here at the studio. It’s impossible to make it sound bad!
