Do I Sound Like I Care? THE carer’s podcast is finally launched.

3 years ago I was an Emmy Award winning television producer. Everything was fine, but dementia had other plans for me.

I’ve only been caring for my mum Teena since 2021 and some of you have been doing this for much, much longer, and in that time I’ve dealt with a lot of loss.

My mum, my career, my status, and my identity. Plus a s**t load of money.

It’s taken a toll on every aspect of my life, including friendships and relationships.

But I’ve learned so much about what it really means to care, and that there’s a huge gap in services for people like us, people who are caring, especially caring for people with dementia.

If you’re feeling burnt out, ignored, frustrated or invisible because you used to be someone else and now you’re a carer, you are not alone!

Check out the podcast here https://youtu.be/8dtJSOodcZI
it’s by, for and about us, the unpaid carers.

Thanks to my first guest, the amazing Claire Pilling https://www.instagram.com/claire_pilling_vocals/

Gotta go now and pick up my mum from her day centre...
