We’re delighted to announce that Ancient Infinity Orchestra, the 15-member spiritual jazz ensemble from the North of England, are releasing their second album It’s Always About Love on 26th September. Ancient Infinity Orchestra is a joyous large ensemble that has communal music-making at the heart of everything they do.

The first single Chant for Don Cherry is out today and available to listen to now. Bassist, composer and bandleader Ozzy Moysey describes this song as a ‘campfire style’ thank you to Cherry himself, featuring high-colour piano lines and gently rhythmic guitars.

This vibrant second album sees Ancient Infinity Orchestra continue with their distinctive line-up: two double basses, harp, saxophones, clarinets, violin, viola, cello, oboe, flutes, mandolin, congas, piano, drum kit, with bells, shakers and other percussion instruments scattered on the floor of live sets and recording sessions, ready for members to use whenever the spirit takes them.

It’s Always About Love is also a study in simplicity and stripping away excess to uncover something pure, warm, and human.

London, we can’t wait to bring Gondwana Records Presents to Queen Elizabeth Hall, Southbank Centre, on the 18th of October, and hope you can join us.

The evening will feature, as headliner, the cinematic chamber jazz of Milo Fitzpatrick’s project Vega Trails, with a live string section and dreamy, post-classical music of composer Ambre Ciel, who will be making her London debut with a special band including strings. Also performing is Jack Wyllie of Portico Quartet, presenting his 4th world-inspired project Paradise Cinema.

We’re super pleased to share Nara Black (Feat. PEACH.), the second single from Chip Wickham’s soulful new album The Eternal Now, which is out on 5th September.

Chip’s flute floats gently and freely, while PEACH.’s alluring vocals intertwine with the uplifting flute motifs and sweeping strings. Nara Black refers to a traditional Japanese tattoo ink, symbolising permanence and depth.

We’re still immersing ourselves in the soothing soundscapes of Vega Trails’ new album ‘Sierra Tracks’, and we want to thank everyone who has supported the record so far.

These instantly captivating songs leave a lasting impression, emulating a journey through nature. The project, from Milo Fitzpatrick, mirrors his walks through the mountains near his home in Madrid, capturing a sense of quiet reflection and open space.

We’re delighted to announce that saxophonist, flautist, and Chip Wickham will release ‘The Eternal Now’ on 5th September.

Co-produced by our very own Matthew Halsall 'The Eternal Now' foregrounds Chip’s mesmeric, beautiful flute playing and features two of Manchester’s finest musicians: legendary drummer Luke Flowers (The Cinematic Orchestra) and Chip’s regular collaborator Sneaky on bass as well as strings and guest vocalist Peach.

Together, they have crafted his most progressive, rhythmically heavy release yet — a heartfelt ode to the practice of creating art, and the freedom found in letting go.

Chip explains: “The Eternal Now is a creative place where time has no purpose. Writing this album has been a deliberate journey of exploration and drive into the furthest reaches of creativity. An attempt to push myself artistically into new spaces using new colours and new energy”.

We’re bringing a very special edition of Gondwana Records Presents to London at Queen Elizabeth Hall at Southbank Centre, on the 18th of October.

It’s an evening of inspiring sounds, ranging from cinematic chamber jazz to dreamy post-classical music and Senegalese-influenced experimental jazz. Headlining the night is Vega Trails the melodic chamber jazz project led by Milo Fitzpatrick, joined by a live string section. Canadian songwriter and composer Ambre Ciel makes her London debut, also accompanied by strings. Saxophonist and flautist Jack Wyllie presents Paradise Cinema, an exploration of fourth world–inspired sounds.
