Little bit late to be posting photos from the 24Hours of LeMans, but it's probably better late than never.

A slightly tight schedule meant I didn't get the opportunity to fully explore LeMans, perhaps ignorant of me to have not realised how much of a huge event it is.

Whilst walking back to the AirBnB from the track at 2am it was only then I realised the magnitude of the race. The circuit is as busy at 2am, as it is at 2pm. Floods of people going in and out of the venue in the early hours of the morning - the atmosphere, it is electric.

Looking forward to get back into photography after falling far off of the horse these last 9 months.

Had to get one last visit to the track in before 2024, and Donington Park was the best place to be.

A circuit rally held by Donington Rally Dukeries Motor Club on an incredibly miserable day led to sideways action. Starting snowy and slushy, progressing into sideways rain, and the fog closing in on the final stages. Visibility was down to just metres for the last two sessions.

This is only around 70% of the photos, the rest can be found in the 'albums' section on the page.

"I'm not going to take any photos at this one, we're just going to enjoy the fireworks" was the unintentional lie I told my partner. I did leave my camera at home, but unfortunately for her I saw a friend with one and convinced them to let me borrow it 😏

After disappearing for an hour I remembered that I'd come with my partner and should probably put the camera down - thank god for understanding women 😅

Racing shots are cool and all, behind the scenes is where the action really happens. Whilst with RHR I was also given access to collaborate with Breakell Racing and capture some behind the scenes shots.

The whole team running like clockwork ticking off the tasks and the clock counted closer to every session.

Personally I find that working BTS and working closer with the team and the mechanics is just as rewarding as shooting the action on track. Seeing the intricate tasks down to the fine details gives a great insight to the depth of how much work is required to keep the car going. Seeing how the team communicate with each other and the balance between professionalism and bantering camaraderie.

Especially grateful to team up with Ruben Hage Racing at this years Donington Decider of the Ginetta ProTyre Championship.

Donington is a fantastic track, in the Midlands we are especially lucky to have it so close. With so many great areas to spectate from, and such a demanding track, it creates so much action.

Ruben added to his win tally at the weekend, racking up an incredible 7th for the year, and up to 11 podiums! Considering this is only his first year in the GTP car it's an amazing feat.

For me this was more than just a race weekend, but an eye opener to what I have been missing out on. Working closely with a great team, having so many new opportunities, and a totally new environment allowed me to stretch my creative muscles, and his re-ignited my passion for photography! I'm very very grateful for this opportunity, it's exactly the kick up the behind I needed.

More photo's from Donington to come!

I'm no journalist, and the photos won't really tell the scene. Let me attempt to recount my version of events at my first ever truck race.

Before the weekend at Brands I hadn't watched any truck racing live, I had heard of it and knew of it's existence - so I set to work brushing up on the racing and the standings, had a look at a few Youtube videos from BARC official channels.
Whilst it looked all good fun on the videos it really didn't capture the immensity of truck racing.

You are stood at the top of a hill, on a very stormy day. It's raining sideways and soaked down to the very fibres of your being. To top it off there's a strong breeze to really chill the bone. You're stood at turn 2 (Druids) which if you're unfamiliar is a long right hand hairpin at the top of a very steep crest. The safety emerges followed by 20 pedigree race trucks over the crest - christ those are absolutely enormous. Some (Bint Racing) sporting a particularly aggressive design. If it was in my mirror I would be immediately changing lane.

Safety truck pulls in, the race is on. An accumulated 100 tonnes and 20000 horsepowers (and who knows how many torques) come stampeding over the crest, in basically monsoon conditions, you feel the vibration through your feet and the rumble in your chest as they round the corner, locking the brakes and sliding into each other, trucks trying to get the power down and flicking the tail out and spraying the spectators, and theyre just about round off down to the next corner - mostly still intact.

It's basically this - all day. Complete and total chaos. I've never known a race have a 3 truck pile up, have bodywork all over the track, and then they just carry on like nothing has happened. Topped off only by needing a whole recovery truck to pickup up someones bonnet at the end of the session. Great times. Love it.

Still new to truck racing so if you recognise any trucks please tag the teams/drivers

Pickup truck racing, something else I had no idea existed, but I am now a very thorough fan. I've also somehow managed to remain completely clueless as to any of the mechanicals of them. They are definitely RWD and that's about all I could work out from a wet and greasy Brands.

Pretty much every corner you could be sure someone was coming round sideways. There's an amazing grassroots NASCAR vibe to the pickup racing, no one is afraid to rub wheels, and from the grandstand they look like they need to be driven by the scruff of their neck.

I really tried pushing my creativity on the infield of T2/3 with some mega slow panning shots through one very green tree. Whilst the hit rate was probably 1 to everyone 20, I think they look ace.

With no official Instagram page for the organisation it does make finding the teams and drivers quite a bit harder - please tag them if you see them!

At Brands Hatch for the final races of the season, here are some of my photos from the Junior Saloon Car Championship.

Some really fantastic wheel to wheel racing, with the cars being equal across the board it really separated the boys from the.. well the almost men. The championship entrants being from ages 14 to 17 but showing brilliant race-craft and car control. Truly would put me to shame.

Congratulations to Daire Flock for taking the 2023 Title, and a fantastic effort from Cameron Pratt Thompson for taking P1 in the Rookie championship, and an incredible P2 in the overall championship!

Fantastic weekend of racing at Brands Hatch finishing off the season perfectly with an epic fireworks display, and the whole indy circuit illuminated by show trucks.

Lots of photos to edit - looking forward to getting them on display here.
