My twin celebrated her daughter’s 4th birthday, which also doubled as her twin boys’ 1st birthday party, and it was such a beautiful day catching up with some of my favourite people.

Gabby and her sisters specifically asked to wear casual outfits because, in their words, “it’s not our birthday.” But me, as a Nigerian, I believe you show up in full main character energy even when you are only a guest. And let’s be honest, I was always going to arrive like the aunt-mum that I am to the celebrants.

Happy birthday, Light, Aku, and Ugo. Auntie Olivia loves you so much ❤️❤️

We have told Gabby not to cook unsupervised just yet, but today she surprised us.

She decided to make breakfast for her sisters all by herself, and by the time mum got into the kitchen, she was nearly done. Her pancake was perfectly round, even if it was a little too sugary.

What mattered most was the love behind it. Her sisters enjoyed their breakfast, and we could not be prouder of her. Our little “second mum” is already showing such a caring heart.

Same parents, same house, same love, but two completely different personalities, and I love every bit of it. Ella likes her hair without extensions, while Gabby wants braids with all the vibes. Ella will speak her mind boldly, then turn around and hype me up like I am the greatest mum alive. Watching my girls grow into themselves is one of the sweetest parts of motherhood.
