✨ Goya Gumbani .gumbani and his full band are coming to Margate on the 8th of November 🙌

Prolific in his output, having released a steady string of EPs and mixtapes since he landed on the scene (collaborating with MIKE, Pink Siifu, Fatima, Yaya Bey, George Riley, Joe Arron-Jones, Lex Amor, The Silhouettes Project, to name a few..), Goya released his triumphant solo album ‘Warlord of the Weejuns’ at the start of the year to critical acclaim from the likes of Crack, CLASH, NME and The Face.

His music encapsulates the two dominating musical communities that Goya hails from: the rich hip-hop lineage of Brooklyn and his inventive multi-cultural generation of London jazz musicians.

We’re making a night of his visit, with support from the brilliant (aka & ) and Margate Radio host Jerry & Raggamuffin (aka & ) 💃🕺👯‍♀️

They will also be the home to one of .studio Sonaform sonic sculpture for the day. Instead of hearing through speakers, their ‘Sonaforms’ allow you to feel sound through your whole body - a totally new way of experiencing sound ✨

✨Last Saturday was a blast✨

Thank you to all that came last Saturday to celebrate Margate Radio’s 5th Anniversary.
It was heartwarming to witness the community come together to mark this milestone. 🥳🥳

Saturday was so much more than a party. The essence of sound system culture has always been about community and about the gathering of CommUnity.✨✨

It demonstrated the energy created by togetherness and the force that the gathering of individuals through music can achieve.

It was a great moment of communion and a much needed confirmation that we are stronger together.

Thank you again for partaking and creating this space where everybody is welcome.

To celebrate our 5th anniversary, we have collaborated with Stussy Archive to deliver an exclusive and soon to be collector tee🫰

Head to the website to get yours as they are in a very limited edition, and when they are gone, they are gone.

You will be able to collect your purchase from Cliftonville Community Centre during the party (collection only)

Big Shot Diner will quench our thirst with their signature cocktails, natural wines and soft drinks.

Jack Goldstein is a chef and musician based in Margate, Kent. He runs a series of intimate pop-up supper clubs and is a nutritional chef for the company .
He also hosts a monthly Country music show for Margate Radio.
He will serve a delicious ashkenazi vegetarian cholent (slow cooked jewish stew) with eggs pickled in beetroot and mandlach (large croutons) 🥕🫜🍅🍆🥒 Dinner will be serve from 7pm, until stock lasts (❗️) so don’t miss out 🤤🤤

We are very excited about the upcoming Margate Radio 5th celebration as it looks like it will be legendary ✨

Jah B will play great track on his Margatone sound system, and a selection of our DJ will play some tunes too:

⭐️ Paul Camo

Once a regular DJ at the legendary Plastic People, Paul has hosted a flagship show on NTS Radio since 2012. He has also curated the music for the Turner Prize opening event at Turner Contemporary, NTS X Tate Late, Somerset House, and djed for Touching bass and recently for Jumbi at Gala Festival. Paul also djed for Thom Yorke’s band The Smile and performed in the Tom Skinner band at Church of Sound. Paul has curated selections for clothes designer Nicholas Daley and Goodhood.

He is also the founder of Margate Radio, an online radio station set up during the first lockdown which has since grown into a station of more than 90 shows, broadcasting a wonderfully varied range of content from Margate/ Thanet locals.

⭐️ Jerry B2B Raggamuffin

Jerry Plucking from a global catalogue of dusty finger picks, Jerry spins a playful blend of RnB, boogie, reggaeton, street soul, hip hop, rare grooves, dub, club and sweatier rhythms. She’s played some of London’s most respected club spaces and audiophile venues alike, as well as festivals Glastonbury, Brainchild, Gala and Lemon Land.

Raggamuffin
Using his background in the art world (having done time at Tate Modern, KW Berlin & Glasgow School of Art, and being a founding director of New Curators), Rudi now heads up curation at SE15’s hottest hi-fi bar, restaurant & cultural space , celebrating the sounds & flavours of the afro-caribbean diaspora.

⭐️Felicia Buena

She is a Multidisciplinary Artist & DJ from Ramsgate, combing sounds from meshed genres - Afro House, Funky House, Garage & RnB. Her monthly show on Margate Radio showcases a lot of UK underground artists, exploring different themes and her feelings of that month through music.
