So chuffed to get a supportive shout-out from this legend! We love Mrs Smith at Edgy!

I love a school production. Well, whilst we are auditioning, rehearsing and making props perhaps not so much but on the night, when it comes together, I love it.
I love the crackle of excitement in the air just before the show starts.
I love the child who never thought they could, discovering that actually they can.
I love the look of pride on parents and carers faces.
I love the cold glass of Prosecco when I get home.
Like many schools we tend to have an EYFS and KS1 nativity followed by a Y6 theatrical production. In Year 6, for the past few years, we have used Edgy Productions as a source of our shows. Each show comes as a package complete with script, score, music tracks and sound effects. You simply need to add time, the children and the props.
Our children have loved the shows, the silly jokes, the puns and the brilliant lyrics. The audience lapped them up too.
Imagine then how I felt when Edgy Productions sent me a copy of their latest new release. A musical version of the Nativity. Pop goes the Nativity. It is designed as a whole school nativity that is led by KS2.

𝐀 𝐇𝐔𝐆𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐍𝐊 𝐘𝐎𝐔 to everyone who performed 𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐎𝐎𝐋 𝐃𝐀𝐙𝐄 for your end-of-year production. From its proceeds we have been able to support the charity 𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐕𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐊𝐈𝐃𝐒' 𝐂𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄𝐑, who helped Louis Moorhouse and his family during his treatment for neuroblastoma as a young child - treatment which left him blind and partially deaf.
If you have followed the story, you will know that Louis himself performed School Daze in Yr6 at Thackley Primary School, back in 2013. Now, as a professional musician, he has contributed recordings to the recent updated version of the musical and yesterday visited his old school as a special guest, to watch their 2026 performance of it!
Getting to know Louis has been this year's highlight for us. Solving Kids' Cancer was (excuse the pun!) instrumental in his realising his childhood dream of becoming a musician and he is now an ambassador for them - all the more reason why we are supporting their work. So, again, thank you to all of you who have made this possible by performing School Daze this year.

A fab day filming with BBC's The One Show (YES! THE ONE SHOW!) who are doing a feature on the inspirational Louis Moorhouse and his involvement in the 25th anniversary edition of our musical School Daze. A huge thank you to Thackley Primary School for hosting us - what a wonderful school and staff. And a complete joy to meet the fab-u-lous force of nature that is Danny Beard who is presenting the piece.
