What an incredible few days in Bratislava filming a brand new TV show 🎬

A huge thank you to the whole team for making the experience so much fun and for making me feel so welcome.

It was also so lovely meeting so many new people along the way and getting to be part of something completely different.

Really excited to see where this goes.

Here’s to an exciting new chapter 👀🎥

I love finding history in places you might otherwise walk straight past, and Wandsworth is full of it.

From beautiful Victorian pub interiors to centuries of brewing history, there’s so much hidden around these streets.

The was a real highlight, especially once you start looking at the history behind the building.

And with the former brewery just across the road, where Young’s story began, you really get a sense of how important brewing has been here.

There’s far more to the story than I could fit into one video, so definitely check them out to discover more of their history. 🍺

Hidden on the edge of Bath is this incredible Victorian tin church.

Bailbrook Mission Church opened in 1892 and was built using a design from William Cooper’s 1889 catalogue. That’s right, you could essentially order a church from a catalogue.

Made with a timber frame clad in corrugated iron, it was actually the most expensive and most “ecclesiastically correct” church design Cooper offered.

More than 130 years later, this unusual piece of Victorian history is still standing and is now Grade II listed.

I’ve walked past the more times than I can count, so it was great to finally get the chance to actually stay here.

And obviously, I couldn’t stay somewhere like this without digging into its history… 👀

The hotel is made up of seven Georgian townhouses dating back to the 1700s, and John Wood the Elder himself once lived here at number 9.

It’s also survived some extraordinary moments in Bath’s history, including the Bath Blitz in 1942, when part of the hotel was destroyed by a bomb.

Today it’s a beautiful place to stay, the food was fantastic, and I loved spotting little reminders of its past throughout the hotel.

A very different way to experience a bit of Bath’s history.

Another little piece of Bath’s history hiding in plain sight.

This beautiful building on York Street was built as a Masonic Hall in the early 1800s, and you can still spot clues to its past carved into the building today.

Now, it has a very different life as a bookshop.

Hidden away beneath North Parade is one of Bath’s most romantic little secrets.

Delia’s Grotto is said to be where Richard Brinsley Sheridan secretly courted Elizabeth Linley before the young couple fled Bath and eloped in 1772.

More than 250 years later, it’s still here, tucked away in plain sight.
