🎬 Tomorrow Never Knows, a short film by recent alumni of Buckinghamshire College Group, has been officially selected for the Bournemouth International Film Festival 🎉

The film, written, directed and edited by Alex Hogarth will compete in the Best UK Short Film category.
Created shortly after completing their Level 3 Film and TV course, the film explores themes of identity, pressure and future uncertainty, following a young man, Alan, as he is thrust into a multitude of imagined futures after being asked a question about what lies ahead.

Chris Burgess, media technician at Buckinghamshire College Group, said: "It’s incredibly rewarding to see our former students achieving recognition at this level so soon after graduating."Their success with Tomorrow Never Knows reflects not only their talent and determination, but also the collaborative spirit and professionalism they developed during their time with us. "We’re all very proud of them."

The film’s selection highlights the powerful impact of early-career independent filmmakers across the UK 🎥✨

Pinewood Studios have announced the dates for their Futures Festival which will take place on 30th and 31st January 2026. The festival is set to be Europe’s biggest free careers event for those looking to start a career in the Film and TV industry. We support teaching young people and those looking for a career change, a pathway into the industry. The event will showcase employers and industry professionals as well as host workshops and panels.

As with many in the creative sector, Marlow Studios welcomes this initiative - Curriculum and Assessment Review - https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/curriculum-and-assessment-review. At its heart is a renewed commitment to creativity in education. From a revitalised arts curriculum and a new National Centre for Arts and Music Education to clearer expectations in art, drama, and design, our hope is that educators are putting creativity back where it belongs: at the centre of every child’s education.

The creative sector provides careers to young people from across the spectrum: from those with technology and science backgrounds, to those with business skills, to practical and vocational skills as well as drama and the arts. The government’s commitment to strengthening our skills pipeline in all these areas is welcome.

The independent review of England’s curriculum, assessment and qualifications system, chaired by Professor Becky Francis CBE, and the government’s response.
