Today in our 12 Days of Christmas campaign, we’re focusing on the Childhood Eye Cancer Trust (CHECT), who support children and families affected by retinoblastoma, a rare form of eye cancer affecting young children.

Government launches key Consultations ahead of major Employment Rights Bill changes!

With amendments to the Employment Rights Bill set to take effect soon, the Government has opened several Consultations seeking stakeholder views — covering areas such as:

🔹Unpaid bereavement leave, including Pregnancy Loss
🔹Enhanced dismissal protections for pregnant women and new mothers
🔹Duty to inform Workers of their right to join a Trade Union
🔹Right of Trade Unions to Access Workplaces

Unfair dismissal upheld, despite calling managers “d***heads”!

A recent Employment Tribunal case serves as a reminder of how crucial it is to follow a fair disciplinary process even when employee behaviour crosses the line.

In Herbert v Main Group Services Ltd, the Tribunal ruled that the dismissal was procedurally unfair, despite the employee’s inappropriate comment.
