At Value Our Veterans, we’re changing the way we talk about support.

You’ll often hear people say:
“If you’re struggling, reach out.”
It’s well-intended but the truth is, not everyone can.

Some people don’t want to be a burden.
Some don’t know how to put it into words.
Some have spent years being taught to crack on and stay quiet.

Silence does not mean someone is okay.

🪖 What this campaign is about 🪖

Reach In, Not Out is about taking responsibility for each other as a community.

Instead of waiting for someone to ask for help, we:

✅ ️Check in first
✅️ Notice the quiet ones
✅️ Send the message without expecting a reply
✅️ Offer presence, not pressure

You don’t need the right words.
You don’t need solutions.
You just need to show up.

What “reaching in” can look like:

“Just checking in, mate.”
“Fancy a brew?”
“No pressure to reply.... just thinking of you.”
“I’m here if you need anything.”
A call. A message. A knock on the door.

Small actions matter more than we realise.

🤝 What we ask from this community....

Check on someone you haven’t heard from in a while
Don’t assume silence = strength
Be patient with replies (or no replies)
Keep it genuine, respectful, and pressure-free
If you reach in and someone doesn’t respond, you still did the right thing.

This isn’t a one-off post.
It’s a habit we’re trying to build.
Because communities stay strong when we stop waiting…
and start reaching in ❤️🩷💙

We spend a lot of time telling people to reach out.

And I understand why.

But the truth is, not everyone can.

Some people don’t have the words.
Some don’t want to be a burden.
Some have spent a lifetime being the strong one.
Some are exhausted just getting through the day.
So today, I want to flip it...

What if we stop telling people to reach out and start reaching in instead?

That doesn’t mean fixing people.
It doesn’t mean prying.
It doesn’t mean expecting replies.

It means a message that says “I’m thinking of you”
It means checking in on the quiet ones.
It means noticing who’s gone silent.
It means being present, even when there’s nothing to say.

Some of the strongest people I know would never ask for help.
But they still deserve support.

And that responsibility shouldn't have to sit on their shoulders alone.
It sits with all of us.

If you’re struggling and reading this, you don’t owe anyone explanations.
If you’re coping then please remember to go easy on yourself.
And if you’re able to, reach in.
This is how we look after our own.
This is what community really means.

Thank you

As we step into a new year, I just want to pause for a moment and say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who’s followed, liked, supported, commented, shared, messaged or simply stayed quietly in the background.
None of it goes unnoticed and none of it is taken for granted.

This community is a space for people on their best days and their hardest ones. You have lifted others even though some of you have been struggling to hold on yourselves. And all of that matters.

As we move into the new year, my hope is that we keep looking out for one another, checking in, and showing up... even in the smallest ways.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

Lots more to come for Value Our Veterans in 2026! 👀

I would like to wish all of my followers a very happy, healthy and safe New Year 🥰

Lea ❤️
