Everyone talks about how pacifiers are this and that - how they can affect or cause speech delay , how they can ruin a child's dentition and how babies get on it an forget to eat
Those were the usual excuses I read from moms on why they wouldn't let their little ones have a pacifier but no one, I mean no one warned how this pacifier can be so disruptive to a baby's sleep pattern
Arunne is obsessed with her pacifier and she's so into it that she can't fall asleep without it and after she falls asleep, the pacifier must not fall from her mouth cause once she rouses from her sleep and it's not in her mouth, she starts crying and looking for it frantically with her hands, her mouth, her nose - her entire face basically and she starts to cry if you don't find it and out it back immediately. Pat her from here to Jerusalem but she won't fall back asleep until her pacifier is back in her mouth.
So nighttime is no fun as her sleep and ours is heavily disrupted due to playing fetch with her pacifier every night.
If your baby doesn't want it, better be thanking God. Initially it was helpful for soothing her when she's fussy and also to take her attention away from me/my b***s so I can get stuff done but now, I need a miracle to make her stop using it. I'm hoping she will outgrow it by herself at some point otherwise I'll be forced to make her quit cold turkey!
