The Legacy of Tall Trees
Nestled in the heart of North Yorkshire, Tall Trees became legendary for its sheer scale and atmosphere. With a capacity of 7,000 and queues that stretched for miles, it was the beating heart of the Northโs clubbing scene. Month after month, over 5,000 passionate partygoers flocked to experience what can only be described as pure euphoria.
The sound system shook the walls, the lights painted the night, and the DJs delivered sets that still echo in our minds today.
Retro wasnโt just about musicโit was about connection. It was about dancing shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers who felt like family, losing yourself in the rhythm, and creating stories that would last a lifetime.
The End of an Era
Sadly, all good things come to an end. When Tall Trees was demolished and replaced by a housing estate, it felt like the closing of a chapterโa bittersweet goodbye to a place that had given so much joy. But the spirit of Retro never died. It lived on in the hearts of those who were there, in the tracks that defined the nights, and in the friendships forged on the dance floor.
Keeping the Fire Alive
Retro HQ has worked tirelessly to keep that magic alive, hosting reunion specials across Teesside and the North East. Each event is a reminder that while venues may disappear, the music and memories remain eternal.
And now, the next chapter beginsโฆ
The Big Reunion
On Saturday, 7th February 2026, Retro returns just a few miles from the original Tall Trees site to AMADEUS, Northallerton. With live performances from house legends Allison Limerick and Rachel McFarlane, and original DJs Paul Taylor, Ben Taylor, Kareem, Manjit, supported by Craig Chisman, this promises to be one of the greatest atmospheres since Trees itself.....
This isnโt just a night out. Itโs a chance to relive the emotions, the goosebumps, and the unforgettable moments that made Retro at Tall Trees iconic.
