We have had a few messages from people asking why we don’t have any information in Go Local about the Fab festival in Middlewich. Please see my statement below.
We’ve always believed in supporting local initiatives, which is why Go Local offered heavily discounted and free promotion, design, and print services when the current organiser took over the event a couple of years ago. Our team provided a great deal of help early on, which was gratefully received — until we had a deeply disappointing experience with one particular member of their team. Their rude and unprofessional behaviour made it impossible to continue our involvement.
Despite our best efforts and genuine intentions to help the event succeed — including donating multiple pages of our magazine — we were suddenly cut off with no explanation, no acknowledgment, and no thanks. Our messages went unanswered, and we were left feeling let down and disheartened.
Go Local could have helped reduce event costs significantly by producing clear maps and local information, delivered to every home In Middlewich for free. We also have mags in Sandbach and Holmes Chapel and I would have pushed it in these too. It’s incredibly frustrating to see that opportunity wasted — especially when our goal was simply to support something positive for local residents and businesses.
I have had messages from people directly asking for information about the event and asking why it’s not in the town’s magazine. Trust me, we tried and we wanted to passionately.
I hope still that all the food vendors, craft stalls, boat vendors, local businesses and anyone else who can benefit from the opportunity sees a boost and positive uplift. I have terrible mixed feelings and disappointment because Go Local wanted to help… and let’s just say we weren’t treated how we treat others.
