UK star, Richard Blackwood joins the ensemble cast of the new TV drama series, 'The Jacksons of Milton Keynes'.

A well known figure across film, TV and comedy in the UK. Richard Blackwood is a British actor, comedian, rapper, and presenter. Rising to fame with his 1999 TV show The Richard Blackwood Show, he built a career in stand-up, music, and acting. He is best known for roles in EastEnders, Hollyoaks, and various stage productions.

The series features a tight-knit Black British family in Milton Keynes who must confront long-simmering tensions and secrets when the matriarch's health takes a turn, testing their bonds of love and loyalty.

The TV series will work with 350 cast and crew over the two month shoot period, based on scripts written in 'The Writer's Room' which involved 8 writers from Milton Keynes.

Created and Produced by me and directed by Blessing Egbe.

I walked into The Writers' Room on Sunday to encounter a very lively creative debate/discussion? taking place as ideas were suggested, accepted, discarded or added to the development of the TV series, 'The Jacksons of Milton Keynes'.

Fantastic energy for creative to flourish.

The next Writer's Room session is online on Thursday 9th April from 7-9pm. The next in-person meeting is on Sunday 13th April 2025

There was only one male in the room so more males are invited. This Thursday's online session and this Sunday's online is the last opportunity for any new person to join in. Following these sessions, The Writers' Room will be closed as the Writers focus on creating the new series. So if you are interested in developing scriptwriting skills or writing for TV, this is your final opportunity to take part in this unique experience.

Participants range from students to business owners, radio hosts and NHS practitioners, and aged from 18 to over 50, some with experience in writing and some with none at all.

So if you would like to join in as a beginner or at a more advanced level, you are welcome.

if you cannot make the in-person sessions you can be an online only participant whose role is mainly to critique and what has been developed on Sundays.

Head to the website to book Looking forward to seeing you in Milton Keynes' Writers' Room
