We had ☝️three new members join us last night 🙏 for our monthly book club meet 😁
We chatted ALOT 😆🫣 got to know each other a little more 🥰 and found we all had loads more in common than ‘just’ reading books 🤸‍♂️🎉

🫣I should have taken more photos but we were all so ‘busy’ chatting and laughing 😆🤷‍♀️

😆We’re a mixed bunch of great ladies who just love an excuse to get out the house! Have a glass of vino, discuss life, authors, plots and try and read a book in a month 👍

So lots to discuss at our meet on Thursday. 🏛We had a great turn out and we discussed our last month's book - The Song of Achillies. ⭐️ Some rated it 8/10 whilst others rated it a 3/10. ⭐️Some prefered the physical book whilst others preferred listening to it on BBC Sounds.

About last night…
😲it may have been absolutely chucking it down ☔️ with storm Henk 🙄
☝️but we still went ahead and had our first Book Club meet of this year!🤸‍♂️🎉

Some swam in the door 😂 others walked in looking like drowned rats 💦 whilst others were still away… sunning 🏝️⛱️ it up in Doha and Cape Verde! (We were not jealous much!)😉

We even had new members brave the storm and come along! 🙌👍 (thank you and welcome ladies!! Dianne, Kathleen & Catherine)☺️and we spent the evening having a drink 🍹(as always) and getting to know our new members… catching up on everything that had happened since our last meet in December…
Oh 🤷‍♀️ and of course… we chatted books 😂👍

📚🎁We had each gifted each other books for Christmas at December’s meet, so we didn’t pick a book for December… instead we took a chilled month and we read what we were gifted (some of which were completely out of our comfort zones and preferred genres) but we laughed and rated them anyways! 😆🤣😂

FYI - 💕We are a group of ladies (just like you… who read a post on Facebook, pushed ourselves out of our comfort zones and came along to a meet and ☝️are all now book loving friends - once a month!😂)
We come together from all over Milton Keynes (not just Bletchley), different ages, professions, stages in life… but we’re a friendly, inclusive bunch who just blooming love (or previously loved) to read!
We all have that one thing in common.. we just wanted to be a part of a small local community of book lovers with no judgement or pressure… a group would encourage us to read a book a month, try new authors… and have an evening out once a month… Et Voila! 🙌 Nearly a year later 👋 HERE WE STILL ARE!☺️🥰📚

So… now down to the important bit… ‘THE’ book selection for January 2024!
