Georgian House Restoration ⚒️
We recently restored this Georgian property, which required a complete rebuild of the front elevation after 80% of it collapsed when the interior was cleared by the client.
The window and door openings were redesigned and rebuilt in line with the architect’s plans, giving the house a new lease of life while respecting its character.
Inside, we removed several unsafe walls, including some that were load bearing for the new roof structure.
Initially, the plan was to lime wash three elevations for extra protection and leave the new front elevation exposed. In the end, the client opted to leave all the stone visible and lime point everything for a consistent finish.
All external stonework was laid using lime mortar. Internally, blockwork was used to keep the project within budget. Some of the stone and quoins were supplied by James McCrindle at Copes Quarry.
The windows are being fitted this week... more photos to follow soon!
