We loved having the students from Abbey Road Institute France here for their annual 2 day Masterclass this past weekend. The fantastic students threw themselves into recording the bands using both The Quadrangle Studio and (almost finished!) Coach House Studio. These masterclasses are always full on, always creative, always long hours but always great fun which pretty much sums up what recording should always be about in our opinion!

We are all utterly gutted to hear the news about Mani from The Stone Roses. A seriously important part of Rockfield history let alone to British music. Sincere condolences to his family, his close friends and the many people who knew and loved him. RIP Mani......

Kingsley has had quite the day today, starting with a live interview on Radio 4's Today programme, then Vernon Kay's Radio 2 morning programme, ITV News have not long left having spent time interviewing him for this evening's programme, and he's also been seen across America on CBS Morning News too! Why?! The 50th Anniversary of the release of Bohemian Rhapsody! Where has the time gone?!! Needless to say Kingsley has been in his element....

Day 15 - another busy day for the Rockfield Team. Kingsley’s been roped in to help with the carpet tiles and yes, we do realise that they don’t exactly look square to the room but, for once, there is a method behind the apparent madness…. now that’s something that we don’t often get to say here

Day 5 - sad to see the Neve leave the Coach House control room today. This is the first time in over 30 years that neither studio at Rockfield will have a Neve console. Wow!!! From the V3 through 2 VRs and finally this 8128 it’s been the perfect partnership of consoles and studios over the years…..

It’s been a busy month here at Rockfield as we get into the Christmas spirit! As well as some BTS photos from this month and some photos of our merch (shamelessly 😬), we wanted to say thank you to everyone who has made this year so wonderful - the bands, artists, producers, engineers, staff members, maintenance team, visitors, online followers, family members, and of course all our animals - there are so many of you to mention! You all make Rockfield what it is, and we just want to say a huge thank you. We’ve had the best year!
