Photographs from the Collaboration for Mental Wealth in Moray's first sharing ceilidh at Llanbryde Village Hall last month - a project I've been supporting with ongoing visual documentation including photography and videography.

Hosted by Moray Wellbeing Hub, the Collaboration for Mental Wealth in Moray is a network of partners who are researching what works for creating mental wealth in Moray through the co-creation of solutions and community-driven action.

Partners include the Digital Health & Care Innovation Centre (DHI), Moray Arts Development Engagement, Third Sector Interface Moray, Science Ceilidh, Arrows (A Quarriers Service) and The Three Kings Cullen Association.

Funded by UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), and delivered by The Young Foundation, the Community Research Networks programme supports place-based networks across the UK to strengthen the capacity, capability and connectivity required to support sustainable and equitable community engagement with research.

Very proud to be supporting Moray Wellbeing Hub and the Collaboration for Mental Wealth in Moray with ongoing visual documentation for this important project, part of a national community led research programme funded by UKRI and The Young Foundation. The sharing ceilidh was so much fun too! Find out more about the project here: https://mentalwealthmoray.org.uk

Photography from SCAN Summit 2025 held at Eden Court Theatre and Cinema last week.

SCAN Summit 2025: The Grid was an all-day programme interrogating the systems that distribute power, energy and communications in literal and metaphorical ways, featuring contributions from artists, writers, thinkers and other experts.

Drawing inspiration from the Highland economy, currently at the forefront of new forms of energy generation, and longstanding challenges about the distribution of power, SCAN Summit 2025: The Grid examined alternative energy, land and language, and the culture and politics of societies and systems in transition.

A huge thanks to the SCAN team for having me along to capture this event - and great to catch up with friends and collaborators from Hopeful Futures Highland, Timespan, Circus Artspace and Highland Zine Bothy too.

Documentation of THUD, a collaborative performance by Hannah Deus Draper and Kate Owens.

An embodied response to the death of an ash tree, the process of its removal and the site where it once lived.

Kate and Hannah met through the Ash Rise project initiated by The Scottish Furniture Makers Association in partnership with Scottish Forestry and the Association of Scottish Hardwood Sawmillers. The project includes a touring exhibition of work made by 20 artists, designers and makers using wood from Scottish ash trees. In exhibition at Inverness Museum & Gallery in 2025, Ash Rise tells the story of the ash tree, its historic and contemporary brilliance as a material and the challenges of ash die-back.

Hannah Deus Draper is an Edinburgh-based dancer and community artist. She uses improvisation, somatic practices and score making to explore sites of extraction and ecological renewal. Kate Owens is a Glasgow-based artist working predominantly with print. She combines traditional textile techniques with choreography, testing a correlation between physical process and visual liveliness.

This performance has been made possible with financial support from The Hope Scott Trust, Creative Scotland and Glasgow Life and Inverness Museum & Gallery. Support in-kind was provided by Platform Easterhouse and Eden Court.
