As Lore Breaker is run by a woman I feel I have the right to post these links here.
Women aren't only abducted in the UK I've had to run from a cab in Melbourne, Australia because the driver wanted to take me to his house. I've had guys from a club I'd just left try to get into my car with one of my friends and were pulling her out of the car in my home town in Auckland, NZ. Also in Auckland I've had a can of beer thrown at me from a moving car that almost made me turn full 360 it hit me so hard because I didn't respond positively to being catcalled from a car of strange men. At shows I've run I've also had to step in when I've seen a 6ft 2 man push a woman smaller than me - she fell to the ground and hit her head, while other men watched it and laughed. I've also been the victim of domestic violence and sexual abuse. I have countless more stories and know of truly horrific stories that other women in my life have experienced.
The UK is now my home and I absoulutely love this country. From when I first arrived here in 2017 for Mammothfest festival in Brighton I've literally been welcomed with open arms. I've toured with bands I was a fan of and spent time on tour buses around the same time Decapitation was arrested in the US. From the UK metal community I've only had love, warmth, support and kindness - espeically when I spent 6 month couch surfing the UK metal community in 2018. You have picked me up and dropped me off at train stations, walked me back to wherever I was staying, come to find me when I was lost looking for the venue and ALWAYS welcomed me with open arms, at all the shows I've been too.
I'm now married to a pom and I'm here to stay. I'm sharing these petitions here now because they matter. They matter to everyone of your sisters, mums, wives, girlfriends and daughters. Sarah Everard and all the other women killed by a loved one or a random stranger could have been any of us. I absolutely do not agree that all men are the problem, but ALL women change the direction they walk home, park their car's under street lights, decide to wear flat shoes so they can run away if they have too... we do all of this and more whenever we leave the house.
I'm asking men to call out their mates if they are cat calling a woman - I can guarantee that is terrifying, especially if she is alone and you are in a group. If you see a woman that looks scared check if she is ok. Pretend she's your cousin and say 'Oh hi Jane, did Aunty Mary get in touch with you' you could save her life. Be mindful when you are walking down the road and come across a woman walking alone - cross the street. We can all help to make all of our streets safer if we all work together.
Please sign and share these petitions below. Thank you for reading my angry rant. RIP Sarah Everard and all the other women who didn't make it home.

Since Domestic Violence is not a specific Criminal Offence, suspects will be investigated for related offences. If the reported abuse is categorised as ‘Common Assault’, time limits mean victims can be denied an investigation despite building the strength, courage and willpower to come forward.
