Two years ago, I nearly didn’t make it.

This week, took the time to share my story — and I’m grateful. This is happening to people every day, and we need to talk about it. They were incredibly kind and respectful. Thank you for helping raise awareness about such an important issue.

I did my Mental Health First Aid training on Monday, and honestly, I think this should be standard in every workplace.

It gave me more confidence in my ability to spot the signs and step in early, before things hit crisis point. If we can train for fires, we can train for this, too.

Massive thanks to Dawn for leading the course so clearly and compassionately.

At 15, Marcus S***t aka tried to take his own life.

At 16, he ran the entire length of Britain. 🇬🇧🏃‍♂️‍➡️

He became the youngest person ever to run from Land’s End to John o’Groats.

Hiking isn’t just good for your body. It’s good for your head too.

Not in a motivational quote way — in a neuroscience way.
When you’re walking:

🧠 You’re activating your brain’s decision-making centre

🌿 You’re calming your nervous system with natural surroundings

🛤️ You’re giving your thoughts space to breathe and untangle
It doesn’t have to be deep.

Just moving through the world helps reset the way you feel in it.

We’ve made fire and physical safety mandatory in every workplace.
So why aren’t we doing the same for mental health?

We run fire drills.
We do risk assessments.
We learn CPR.

But when it comes to mental health? Most people are left guessing until it's too late.
🧠 I'm campaigning to update the Health and Safety Act to make basic mental health training mandatory in all UK workplaces.

Not therapy. Not diagnoses. Just life-saving education, equipping ourselves with life-saving knowledge, the same way we learn what to do in a fire.
This kind of education could stop someone from reaching crisis point. It could help a colleague speak up earlier. It could save a life.

The petition is live.

It takes 10 seconds to sign.

Let’s make mental health part of everyday safety.

We teach fire drills in every workplace.
Why not su***de prevention?

You don’t wait until there’s smoke to learn where the fire exit is.
So why wait until someone’s in crisis to learn how to help?

🧠 Su***de is a major public health crisis. A bit of training could be the difference between noticing... or missing the signs completely.

I’m campaigning to make mental health training mandatory just like fire safety.

Ethel Haythornthwaite (1894–1986)
I first learned about Ethel thanks to

It stopped me. Inspired me. Made me feel a bit more understood.

Ethel was a British environmentalist and campaigner who didn’t just save wild spaces she saved access to them. At a time when she was seriously unwell with depression, she found her way back through nature. Through walking. Through wildness.
That experience shaped the rest of her life.

She believed everyone should have access to the outdoors not just the rich, or the lucky, or the strong. Everyone.

Her fight led to the UK’s first National Park (Peak District) and the first Green Belt.
She linked nature to mental health long before it was a hashtag.

Thank you ith_altitude for bringing this to my attention. I hope sharing it here helps someone else too 💚

Every time someone signs, a little piece of the UK map lights up.

This shows which constituencies have at least one signature and over time, it builds a live, interactive picture of support across the country.
The goal? Fill the map. Every colour change means someone’s raised their hand for change. 🇬🇧

It’s weirdly motivating seeing those grey areas slowly vanish.

Walking helps me reset, clears the noise, gives me space to think, and usually shifts my mood.

It doesn’t solve everything, but it ca help you process and digest things your mind needs to.

Another lake district mission! 🥾

It was a 6 a.m. start for Skiddaw, Little Man, Sale How, and Ullock Pike. I had the whole top to myself, with house music and dancing.

Feeling great, and the weather is beautiful ☀️
