We are 20 today! 📖

Seven Stories has spent over two decades championing children’s books - celebrating authors and illustrators, preserving original artwork and manuscripts in our Collection, and welcoming families, schools, and our communities to discover the joy of reading.

To celebrate, today we're:
💫 Giving one free book to the 20th young reader through our doors
💫 Giving a free tote bag with a book purchase for our first 20 customers

We’re proud to look back and even more excited to look ahead. As we toast the milestone, we’re also making the most of the final weeks of our summer programme before we turn the page to autumn.

Next up: Adventure by Book - a special exhibition marking our 20th year - plus some brilliant new acquisitions we can’t wait to unveil. Expect stories that travel across time and place, hands-on moments, and a few surprises.💫

Tomorrow! Become an archaeologist at the indoor dig site, Time Quest, The Dig. Uncover 2000-year-old Roman artefacts and learn about life at Arbeia, South Shields Roman Fort.

FREE ENTRY. Kids travel FREE on the Metro. Arbeia is a 12 minute walk from South Shields metro station. Have a wander to the beach afterwards. Take a picnic - make a full day of it.

FREE activities and games every day of August at Newcastle Castle and still the BEST VIEW IN TOWN from the rooftop! Your children will love seeing the trains going in and out of Central Station.

SUMMER OF GAMES!
FREE Activities Everyday of August

This August we will be filling Newcastle Castle with games and sports from all across history. Play, bat, aim and score your way through history as you try your hand at games from the past and learn more about the people who played them.

Games, sports and activities will take place all over the castle grounds and everything will be included in the price of your annual pass. Complete all the activities to win a castle sticker and a chance to take your picture on the podium!

Activities available between 10am-4pm everyday of August. Outside activities subject to weather.

FREE movies in the park all next week!

🎥 A free week-long family film festival will be taking place in North Tyneside next week.

🍿 Blockbuster films will be shown outdoors on a large screen at Wallsend’s Richardson Dees Park, between Monday 18th and Friday 22nd August.

✨ The daily screenings will take place each day at 10am and 1pm and are free to attend.

🧺 People are encouraged to bring a picnic and blanket and join in the fun. The park’s café will also be open with refreshments available.

The Films in the Park events are organised by North Tyneside Council and funded through the Wallsend Towns and High Street Innovation Programme, a North East Combined Authority initiative to maintain and increase footfall in our town centres.
