👩🏾‍💼✨ From Burnout to Boss: Dominique Bogle’s Journey to £100K Months ✨👑

“I didn’t feel satisfied. I knew something was missing.”
That’s the moment Dominique Bogle from West Bromwich decided to stop just surviving and give her side business a real shot. 💥

After 15 years working in utilities and banking, and facing her own struggle with alopecia at 21, Dominique launched Hair Anatomy—a brand selling luxury yet affordable wigs designed to restore confidence and joy. 💇🏾‍♀️❤️

👉🏾 She didn’t quit her 9–5 right away.
She started small.
She tested the market.
She went live on TikTok between 7–9PM while still in her corporate job.
And that changed everything.

📈 From £4K a month to £100K months, including £15K in her very first month of TikTok Lives and £100K on Black Friday alone!

Now she ships internationally to Saudi Arabia, Fiji, and Australia—and runs her business on her own terms, with her mum as head of ops and a thriving customer base of women who feel beautiful again.

Her advice?
💡 “Don’t rush to quit your job. Use it to fund the dream. Start slow. Test your model. And build community.”

Dominique is proof that you don’t need a big budget or a fancy office to build something powerful—you just need a story, a purpose, and the courage to start.

“I run a small art gallery showcasing work from various African artists. People love the art, they compliment the pieces, but they always ask for discounts or wait for sales. It’s frustrating and honestly makes me feel like the work isn’t being taken seriously.”

✍️ My Advice:

This is a struggle many curators and artists face — but the problem isn’t always the pricing. It’s how the value of the work is being communicated.

Here’s how you can shift perception:
•Start telling the stories behind the art — who the artist is, their process, their inspiration. Storytelling builds connection and justifies pricing.
•Use signs and captions that say things like:
“Every piece here supports an African artist’s dream. Our pricing reflects their value and skill — not just the frame.”

•Offer collector perks instead of discounts:
e.g. “Buy 2 pieces this month and get a private artist meet-and-greet invite”

•Remind your audience: Art isn’t a mass product. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime expression. Pricing should reflect that.

💬 Fellow gallery owners, creatives, and collectors — how do you respectfully handle discount seekers?

The business I dream of is already becoming real — one day, one sale at a time.

You don’t need to go viral. You need to stay aligned. Your dream is in motion.

🖤✨ From $500 to Shark Tank: The Power of Purpose and Resilience ✨🖤

Meet Philomina Kane, a proud Ghanaian-American and the powerhouse behind KIN Apparel — the brand that’s changing the hoodie game for natural hair lovers 💇🏽‍♀️🔥

She started in 2021 with just $500 and a dream: to create satin-lined hoodies that protect natural hair from breakage and frizz. No investors. No team. Just grit, creativity, and a deep understanding of what Black women truly needed.

Within a few months, KIN Apparel went viral. The designs weren’t just beautiful — they worked. And then came the big moment: Philomina landed a spot on Shark Tank and secured a $200,000 deal from Emma Grede and Lori Greiner 💰💥

Today, her brand is stocked with hoodies, pillowcases, bucket hats, and more — all made with the same purpose: comfort + culture + confidence.

But what’s most inspiring?
She did it while staying authentic. She didn’t wait for permission. She used her voice. She built community. And she made it fashion 🔥💪🏾

If you’re ever doubting your small start, just remember:
A $500 idea can change the world when it’s built with purpose.
