Breaking News: Christmas Lights Switch on...then off immediately!
In an effort to help with the Winter energy crisis, Newent's Christmas lights will only be on for 5 minutes after the initial switch on. The NTC's energy provider has insisted that the lights are connected to a pre-pay meter inline with Onion Fair Energy's, new business customer policy.
With blackouts expected most evenings as OFE only gets its electricity from Solar panels and it also limits all pre-payed meters to a maximum £1.00 per week top up.

BREAKING NEWS: With the recent news that this years Onion Fayre has been cancelled, there is some more devastating news. The organ-isers of the CCD show are sad to announce that due to the lack of pi**ed up Allium Fayre swinger's , they too have decided to cancel their event. Spokes persons; Mike Hunt and Ivor Biggun, stated that the Fayre cancellation was like the town being hit with a massive case of brewers droop.
Ivor explained that despite having plenty of initial support from two lollipop sticks and a roll of masking tape, he just knew it was going to be a flop. Pessimistically Mike "Hopefully it will rise again later in the year.. But don't be surprised if that gets a sloppy seconds kind of response from the NTC"
