We’ve officially extended our lease at the Riverfront Theatre for another year!🎉🎙️🎶
While rising costs mean we’re yet again paying more to stay here, we’ve made the decision not to increase our hourly recording rate, which hasn’t changed since we first opened the studio back in 2019. Why? Because we believe that high-quality recording should remain accessible and affordable for all musicians, creatives and storytellers 🌟
We explored moving to Cardiff (the costs are now pretty similar), but our heart is here in Newport. This city has backed us since day one, and we’re proud to keep investing in it - bringing top-tier talent and production to the local creative scene 🙏🏻 Of course, we can only keep doing this with your support - so if you’ve got a project in mind, now’s a great time to get in touch!
Over the past year, we’ve had the privilege of working with a hugely diverse mix of clients — from rising artist XEMPA, to music charity Live Music Now, national dance company Ballet Cymru, jazzers Katherine Rees and The Siglo Section, some huge choral and brass recordings, and audiobook powerhouses Hachette and Penguin with legends like Bez and Nigel Owens along the way!
But those are just a few names in a much bigger picture - from grassroots talent to global publishers, every project matters to us. Every time someone walks through our door, it means the world to us. Whether you're just starting out or a seasoned pro, thank you for choosing COBRA — you’re the reason we do what we do 🌟
Here’s to another year of music, stories and sound - made in Newport, heard everywhere. 💛
