We recently had the pleasure of working with the brilliant education expert and author Mary Myatt to bring her latest book, KS3: The Ambitious Years: Why Years 7–9 Matter More Than We Think, to life in audiobook form here at COBRA Music Studios 🎙️📚
It was a real privilege to spend time with Mary in the studio recording her own words. As someone outside the classroom, I found the book a genuine eye-opener. It completely changed the way I think about Key Stage 3 and just how important those years are in shaping a young person's education.
Whether you're a teacher, school leader, parent or simply curious about how our education system works, I'd thoroughly recommend giving it a read. It offers a fascinating insight into why Years 7–9 deserve far more attention than they often receive.
Recording authors narrating their own work is always something special. There's an authenticity and passion that only the person who wrote the book can bring, and it was wonderful to help capture that for listeners.
