June’s long, light evenings are the best time to catch a show – carved into the cliffs above the turquoise waters of Porthcurno (where passing dolphins are regulars in the cast).

There’s plenty of performances to choose from, but we’ve got our eye on the adaptation of Paula Hawkin’s best-selling novel The Girl on the Train. A psychological thriller with twists at every turn, we can’t wait to see what Ilkley Playhouse makes of it on the stage.

If the weather’s on your side, any show is best paired with a swim at Porthcurno beach beforehand.

Two summits and coast-to-coast views in a couple of hours.

When the sun's got its hat on and the work day’s over, much of Cornwall heads to the beach. So why not plump for a different view and a little slice of summer paradise to yourself?

Pack a picnic and set off for a sunset hike to Cornwall’s highest peaks, Rough Tor and Brown W***y. This five-mile loop is the perfect hit of mid-week wild, with big-sky views to the north and south coasts. Just make sure you make it back across the magical moorland before dark.

Coinciding with the Falmouth Classics Regatta, brace yourself for an all-out maritime fiesta for sea and song lovers of all ages.

Can you snag a morning off this week? Don’t waste it. Kickstart your day , bang on the beach at Constantine Bay, then take a stroll, scouring the shoreline for sea-glass.

If the tide’s low, see if you can find the shipwreck at neighbouring Booby’s, then hit the coast path towards the lighthouse standing sentry at Trevose Head – keeping watch for dolphins, basking in the wildflowers and staying clear of the 80-foot blowhole. Dip at the hidden Mother Ivey’s Bay, and skip along the shortcut back to your starting point.

It’s short, sweet and everything a summer’s stroll should be.

June is the month for camping – so dig out the tent or slip off in the campervan to the sea-view overlooking the Roseland Heritage Coast.

With four big fields there’s space to spread out, and this really is simple camping done right: fresh air, beach days and nights under the stars.

Once you’ve unzipped your canvas, the South West Coast Path and Vault Beach are nearby, and if you want to take in some of Cornwall’s attractions, the famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and Dodman Point are within easy reach.
