When your friend snaffles an amazing red two piece from Vinted but you can’t find anything similar in green….
A few days at the sewing machine using a skirt pattern from 1860 and a waistcoat pattern from 1880 I adapted to have sleeves which I took from a 1970s blouse pattern and altered, all made from natural calico, I mixed dyed to get the color I was after, always green, bustle added and lace trim from my stash resulted in a Victorian style two piece buying absolutely nothing new
Thank you to everyone who passes me their fabric scraps and unused stashes, eventually they get loved again 💚

As you all know I’m a big advocate of not buying new and using scrap and recycled fabric where possible, so I raided my fabric stashes and stitched up these festive stockings.

Each one is fully lined with a sturdy fabric hook, they’re made from fabrics that have been in my stash just waiting to be used, pieces too small for clothes or costumes, left overs from curtains or previous creations, some pieces of vintage fabric I’ve just kept because I loved the prints so much, other pieces I’ve been lucky enough to be passed for use by other fabric lovers, all just perfect for unique festive stockings

I’ve got plenty more cut and ready to sew and hope to make at least a small dent in some of my fabric hoard!

Sharing this again as a size guide

A few people have asked about sizing, I'm not a great fan of high street dress sizing as I'm sure sometimes they just throw a number at a label and see what sticks - and we all have experience of being a certain size in one shop only to be another altogether in the shop next door!
So I thought I would share this photo of actual real life bums in pants
Meet the beautiful and perfect bottoms of (from left)
Kelly - Small happy pants dress size 8,
Fran - Medium Happy Pants dress size 10ish
Me - Large Happy Pants - dress size 14ish
Madeline - Extra Large Happy Pants - dress size 18-20ish

As you can see everyone regardless of size or weight distribution can wear a Happy Pant without a we**ie, nice full comfy coverage! These pants have plenty of stretch and give often described as like wearing a hug! Perfect for post swimming as seen here!
