Newquay’s Huer’s Hut is glowing red tonight for World AIDS Day 2025, as Cornwall joins the global call to ‘Claim Your Status’ and help end HIV transmission.

The Eddystone Trust is calling on communities across Cornwall to take action in support of the global HIV response.

Under this year’s theme, “Overcoming disruption, transforming the global HIV response,” the charity is drawing attention to the growing pressures on HIV services around the world and the importance of continued community leadership here at home.

What a night, Newquay! The festive spirit truly arrived in the town on Friday night.

Newquay at Christmas is officially underway on the Killacourt.

On Friday night the lights were switched on by Mayor Drew Creek, joined on stage by MP Noah Law, Mark Warren from Newquay BID, and students from Newquay Junior Academy.

A big well done to Oll an Gwella, Wicked Live UK, Bubbles the Pixie, and Forever Swift for the incredible entertainment.

The festivities continue all weekend with the Christmas market, bar, food and entertainment.
