This week, the BBC is spotlighting the role that unpaid carers play in families and communities across the country. Part of the Caring Week lineup is Big Mountain Productions' "Natalie Cassidy Caring Together", an eight-part series airing tonight at 7pm on BBC Northern Ireland, BBC Scotland and BBC London, also available on BBC iPlayer.

The series follows the award winning actress as she goes back to the classroom to study for a Health and Social Care qualification, inspired by the experience of caring for her dying father.

Streetmonkey was delighted to assist Big Mountain Productions with the titles and on-screen captioning for the series.

Map-making for TV documentaries is a lot more complicated than you might think, as we're all so accustomed to having freely-accessible, highly-detailed maps of the entire surface of the planet at our fingertips!

Here's a short video showing some of the the work that went into producing the 63 unique map sequences for series two of Tern TV's "Our Tiny Islands".

Be sure to check out Tern TV's second series of "Our Tiny Islands", launching on More4 tonight at 9pm. We looked after all the 3D map sequences which show each island's location and vital statistics.

We are a nation of islands. Over 4,000 are scattered along our coastlines, with hundreds more in our lakes, lochs and rivers. Many of these are tiny and remote, but over 200 of them are called home.

Our Tiny Islands is back from Monday at 9pm on More 4.

Now that the first two episodes of Crookhaven have been broadcast on BBC and CBBC, with the remaining 6 episodes available on iPlayer, we can share a "behind the scenes" peek at our work on the development of the title sequence.

The titles are slightly different for each episode, giving the viewer a hint at what's coming up, so if you want to avoid potential spoilers, stop watching after the first 45 seconds ;)

A huge thank you to Leon McGeown-Fee and the team at BBC Studios Kids and Family Productions for giving Streetmonkey the opportunity to be involved with such an exciting project.

Just been to the exclusive preview of and I'm hooked! Episodes 1 and 2 will broadcast on on Sunday 22nd March, with the full series dropping on iPlayer the same day. Streetmonkey generated a slightly different title sequence for each of the 8 episodes: can you spot the clues?

Friday marked a sad milestone for Streetmonkey, as we said goodbye to our Cotton Court office on Waring Street.

We moved into the Cathedral Quarter “before it was cool,” and over the past 20 years both the area and the way we work changed dramatically.

The Covid pandemic was the turning point. Remote working became the norm, the frequency of client visits reduced as file sharing and Zoom meetings replaced face-to-face meetings, and the prospect of commuting for hours every week didn’t appeal to any of us. The office slowly became little more than storage, so eventually it made sense to let it go.

Clearing it out over the last week has stirred up plenty of nostalgia. Small reminders of past projects and people, from a drone propellor lodged behind a cupboard, to a Rocky soundtrack CD buried at the bottom of a drawer. I'll never forget the rumble of skateboard wheels on floorboards or the whine of miniature drones racing around the room during breaks between projects.

Our address may be changing, but our commitment to our clients has not. If you have any projects we can help with, we'd love to talk!
