Apologies both my wife and I were ill there, we caught a flu and it turned into a really bad chest infection requiring steroids, antibiotics and rest. I took three weeks but while I am over it my wife is still recovering. This has thrown my workload off a fair bit so there won't be a March issue of A New Ulster. There will be an April one as well as work on several o my own poems and Lapwing Publications books.

I am happy to report that an ongoing legal issue in regards to IP rights for Lapwing has now been resolved this has been taking up a lot of time and prevented me from publishing any of Lapwing's back catalogue until it was resolved. Google and several other file sharing sites had some Lapwing books which had been uploaded by a third party. The difficulties in getting this resolved has been a ruddy nightmare

I was wondering if someone could help, I need dad's email address for Lapwing if anyone can remember what it was as well as his bank details for Lapwing, None of these appear to have been written down and I need them for Google to take down the leftovers of the old website links.

One of the main things I need to think about is this I have the same genetic disorder my father had and his caught him off guard before he could make contingency plans and with Google changing their inactivity clause his accounts were frozen and then terminated before he could pass them on to us.as anyone who has dealt with Google it is almost all bots and forums. I will have to think about a will just to be sure.

I had to contact Google today as it turned out several Lapwing ebooks were available for sale on Google Play (going back to 2013) dad withdrew from Google in 2015 when his bleeding disorder got worse, dad's paypal, bank, emails and website were all closed down in 2024 so why or how these were still listed is beyond me, seeing as it was Google who closed the email and website. All Lapwing sales these days are handled through KDP and currently only covers the most recent books that I have published. I do intend to add more back copies at some point but not as ebooks just print only for now as I am still finding my way in this

I am still working on rebuilding the Lapwing website, there are a lot of files to work through and I don't think we'll be able to recover anything else from dads hard drive, I am annoyed by the actions of Google they deleted the website as did the Freewebs organisation, Google closed the email addresses that dad had created and the Lapwing bank accounts and paypal accounts were both closed down.

I hope to rebuild the website this year and also to get five books of poetry published.

There's a lot of administration to be carried out and it isn't easy when it is just one person.

Three people have asked for their work to be removed from publication two have been approached by other publishers and I have agreed to those terms. To that end while it pains me to do so Lapwing will no longer be publishing or promoting those books and they will not be featured on the new website

Apologies for the lack of updates we've finished moving into our new home and are still unpacking, I have to get broadband installed and we will be back in operation after that.

September/October bytes. Due to the fact we'll be homeless soon and moving to new premises there won't be much activity for a while. Still I will have the October issue of A New Ulster out this week and will be returning to work on several Lapwing books from next month. I would like to thank Vicki Mullan for her generous donation which came at a time when we were on the ropes.
