Itā€™s a good news/bad news day. The bad news is the weatherā€¦horrendous rain coming sideways kind of day. The good news is I managed to get to the bakery before it turned so bad so itā€™s a batten down the hatches day with a wee floury bap, soda farl, plain scone (I like to add my own jam and cream) and an Oreo chocolate brownie. Ok so I wonā€™t be eating all of thisā€¦I do share. Weā€™re actually hoping to do a little bit of work with the bakery in question in the near future. By we I mean me and my lovely wife. Sheā€™d really appreciate a follow of her new business page and is looking forward to working with local businessesā€¦and those further away too. She might even have some extremely good offers coming up if you or anyone you know needs any photographic content or videos shot for a business! Iā€™ll be honest, Iā€™m a little bit fed up with the artists that I promote in the Love Northern Ireland Facebook group getting all the acclaim. I too am not without talent in this field although itā€™s true that I might have peaked at 6 years old šŸ™„. I did however receive trauma counselling when I noticed that Iā€™d forgotten to give one of the chicks any legs. People tried to tell me that maybe it was sitting down but I know it wasnā€™t šŸ˜©. Happy to receive any positive critiqueā€¦.

I was rather excited to discover that a Swedish micro bakery has recently opened in Comber about 10 minutes drive away. It operates from a pop up in the town square from 8am three or four mornings each week but often sells out inside an hour or two. It well sell out even faster when I get to it! We spent 4 weeks in Sweden in the summer and itā€™s somewhere Iā€™ve been visiting for 25 years. Martha used to work there so itā€™s our happy place. One of our favourite cafes in Vaxholm near Stockholm will be closing next week for the year as it was practically all outdoor tables which wouldnā€™t be ideal in Sweden once the weather turns colder. We visited twice in the summer and hopefully get back again next year for their food and cake buffet šŸ¤¤šŸ¤¤šŸ¤¤ā€¦some photos of it and a link to Smƶr bakery in Comber belowā€¦smƶr means butter incidentally šŸ‘ØšŸ»ā€šŸ”§

Northern Ireland are playing Germany in a World Cup qualifier tonight. Having a German wife could have made for an awkward night but Martha couldnā€™t care less about football šŸ˜„. Incidentally only one team has ever beaten Germany home and away in World Cup qualifying gamesā€¦Northern Ireland! I was at the home game back in 1982 when we beat them 1-0 with a goal from Ian Stewart who used to go to the school I attended. The following day I was in the playground when I saw him talking to one of his old teachers which was a bit unexpected.
