🌟 Exciting News! 🌟

We are thrilled to announce that games developer Owen Senior will be presenting his new game, ‘Aggi’s Tiny Friends’, at the Protistology UK Autumn Meeting at the Natural History Museum in London this week! 🏛️✨

The original idea for a game to educate the public and young gamers about protists came from our founder Professor Harriet Jones. The new game takes the idea of shrinking down to protist size from Paramecium Press book, ‘Aggi and the Mystic Boots. ‘Aggi’s Tiny Friends’ aims to promote public understanding of the importance of protists to the wider environment, by making a fun and engaging game for children and adults alike. 🎮👧👦

In ‘Aggi’s Tiny Friends’, players build their own protist and see how it fares in different environments. Can you find food to grow and dodge other protists out to eat you or will it succeed in reproducing itself? Collect your own ‘sticker book’ of all the protists you encounter and learn about their roles in the environment. 🌍🔬

Excitingly, the game will become available to the public early in the new year! 🎉
In the meantime, you can dive into the world of Aggi by purchasing the book.
This game can bridge the gap between science and education. Let’s inspire the next generation of scientists together! 🌍🔬

Our first book, Aggi and the Mystic Boots was released one year ago today! It's our Aggiversary! 🦕📚🦠🥳 Aggi has had another adventure since then and you'll be able to read all about it by the end of the year in 'Aggi and the Toxic Sea'. Here are our young explorers from our most recent Sunday science session this time they're exploring the genetic code by matching bases on our giant DNA molecule, making bracelets of their names in bead codons and DNA helices from sweets. This week has been incredible as we've been involved in several different events for Norwich Science Festival but the icing on top of this wonderful cake was today with our event to launch our second children's book, Blake's Small Adventure! Featuring the wonderful work of Charli Vince Illustration , it's an exciting story set in the marshes of Blakeney on the North Norfolk coast that introduces young children to some of the wildlife found there, all from the viewpoint of tiny little Blake, a ciliate discovered there just over a decade ago. A busy few days as we prepare for our involvement in the Norwich Science Festival this year. We've been talking QR codes around city centre this week ready for our Microbe Trail. Take your little ones on an adventure to help Aggi find her friends and learn about microbes along the way.
