Meet the team! With a little help from our duck mascot.

At PureContent, we believe in the power of partnerships and the impact of a good mascot to infuse some 'quacking' energy into our team intros!

So, first up in our “Meet the Team” series is none other than our Head of Partnerships, Katy Thompson. The unstoppable force behind our global client relationships (and the reason our duck has a social life).

So, let's get to know her a bit more. In her own words, although some have had to be censored. Whilst the team at PureContent are amazing with their multilingual language content, there is some content we can't print 😆.

Name three things you like and dislike (this took some time as Katy proceeded to list at least 20 plus dislikes 😂).

"I LOVE cats. I am a self-confessed crazy cat lady. Even preferring them to humans most days".
"I also love seagulls. They are sassy, test boundaries and don't give a 'you know what' about anything. Goals".
"Teddy Swims. His voice can melt butter".
"I severely dislike crunching/slurping eating noises, especially clicky jaws. The rage I feel with this is pretty intense! My other half gets the 'Katy eyes' when eating granola".
"When you tell people you are going on holiday and they reply with 'where are you going, anywhere nice?!'. Erm!"
"Toilet brushes. I might go as far as to say this is a phobia, and they make me gag".

What is your guilty pleasure?

"Other than the ability to drink a bottle of red to myself in under an hour?! It would have to be my collection of lipsticks. I have over 100 and have to buy a new one most days. Generally, the same shade, which makes no sense at all. And sunglasses. I have about 50 pairs".

What do you like the most about your role at PureContent?

"The fact I have a voice and can be heard (which isn't hard!). It is the first job I have had where I am not micro-managed. I have met many people in the casino circuit, have travelled a lot, and I class some of these people as friends now".

How would you describe yourself to someone who doesn't know you?

"Slightly nutty, bubbly, fiercely loyal, your friend for life, very caring (sometimes to my disadvantage when other people can be Larry let downs), and I will do anything for you. Oh, and I make a fantastic Aperol and roast dinner".

Lastly, what is your motto?

"Don't be a boring ****. Life is far too short. Why be beige when you can be pink!! This also goes hand in hand with being too serious. Ugh".

I think this says it all, given Katy decided to dress up the 'naked duck' in her wig and Butlins weekender clothes.

We also need a name for the duck. Any suggestions are welcome! Again, we couldn't print Katy's suggestions 😳

Our CEO, Andy Nauman, and Head of Partnerships, Katy Thompson are flying out to Malta on Sunday, 30th March for a busy few days of meetings with our valued clients. As well as some exciting meetings with potential new ones.

While we know they’d much rather be soaking up the sun on a beach, ‘checking their emails’ with a Cisk in hand, they’ll be focusing on helping businesses enhance their digital presence through expert SEO, content creation, website design, and multilingual marketing strategies. Plus our product of the moment. AI news!

Today is World Poetry Day!

We are lucky enough here at PureContent to have experienced and talented writers on our staff. For World Poetry Day, one of our own, Abi Armstrong, presents one of her lovely poems about spring! 💐

'dew-drop mornings,
that’s what i want

to wake up in spring
to cold starts and hot noons
and blossom that’s always falling

dew-drop mornings,
damp socks on the fresh-mown grass
on the way to greet the postman

to breathe in the sunshine,
like it's my last breath

but, the thing is,
i don't just want those dewy mornings,
fresh air and bitter winds

i want summer too
freckles and bonfire barbecues
and the burning heat of the sun

i want autumn
with falling leaves, and the end of things

(i want the birthdays)

and winter
i want winter
snow, though we never get any
christmas, though it’s tough
and the new year
bright and shiny and promising

sitting on the edge of my seat
with a glass of something
and the future at my side

spring, i will love,
and the rest i will love more'
