We make films. Unthank Productions is UEA Filmmaking Society's production company. Helping our student members build their skills with hands-on experience.

This is the official page for the University of East Anglia's Filmmaking Society, a society entirely run by students. Since its creation, we have gained over 120 enthusiastic members and have given a company name to the society - Unthank Productions. With the name and our very talented filmmakers, we aim to create short films and documentaries that have a fresh, new and unique perspective

on the world. We push for our finished films to be screened at film festivals around the world, as well as on our campus, to showcase the amazing talent we craft. For our members, we offer frequent opportunities to get involved in projects, networking and workshops in screenwriting, directing, producing and tech as well as regular film-related socials. Written and directed by our social sec Salad Spinner Detective is a comedy about detectives Sally and Tony solving crimes in a time of budget cuts. Ludicrous crime fighting measures ensue, working from home, pink fluffy handcuffs, and how does a salad spinner fit in here?

Hi everyone,

We've got an exciting opportunity to work at the UEA Pole Fitness competition Scorpio on the 18th March between 9:30am and 2:30pm.

They are looking for two photographers and two videographers to capture their event, ideally with experience.

This is a paid opportunity, offering £10 an hour each.

This is a great opportunity so please drop me a message if you'd be interested in working as a photographer or videographer for this event.

Join us for our first workshop of the year on Wednesday!

This workshop will cover the first steps of the filmmaking process: finding your inspiration, putting together a team, and making your first production plan!

Our first film challenge of the year will start TOMORROW at 7pm. It’s a great opportunity to meet new people and build your filmmaking skills!

Here’s how it works:
- Tomorrow evening we’ll put everyone into small groups. You don’t need any experience or equipment.
- We’ll then give each team a theme for their film.
- You have Saturday and Sunday to write, shoot, and edit a short film, max 3 minutes!
- Then we’ll screen all the films and give out some prizes!

Hope to see lots of you there!

Also feel free to invite friends from outside the society!

- 25th (this Sunday!) Join us for a casual networking/social event at Unio (SU coffee shop, in the Hive). A great opportunity to meet new people or catch up after the summer!

- 30th (Friday) Intro for our 48 hour film challenge! More details soon.

- 1-2 (Saturday and Sunday) 48h hour film challenge!

- 6th (Thursday) Games night!

- 10th (Monday) Screening night! We’ll be showing all the 48h film challenge entries. Everyone welcome (even if you weren’t at the challenge)
