It’s been a busy weekend for Story Hotline as four of our exclusive stories hit the Sunday newspapers.

First up, we revealed the appalling living conditions endured by migrants housed in the Manston processing centre in Kent. We were able to obtain exclusive footage showing the conditions inside the centre and the story ran across two pages in the Sunday Mirror. Read the full story by following the link below.

The second story was on the same theme revealing how violence erupted at the Harmondsworth Immigration Centre near Heathrow airport as migrants grabbed makeshift weapons and started fires leading to power cuts. Riot police were called to try and control the situation. We were contacted by an eye witness who provided video footage and an account of what really happened. Read the full story on the link below.

The third story was a worrying account provided by Ify Mbaeliachi, 40, who believes her father Uzo, 59, was murdered, despite police closing the case after the post mortem examination. The original post mortem is now being scrutinised by the authorities after Ify discovered it was carried out by a now discredited Home Office pathologist Dr Michael Heath.

The Sunday Times featured the story in its main news section.

The final story was a less serious matter about former Prime Minister Liz Truss having her debit card refused when she tried to pay the bill at a trendy London restaurant. We were contacted by a fellow diner who thought it worthy of comment and The Sun On Sunday used the exclusive story on page three. Click on the link below for the full story.

Our latest story was about a concerned customer of a McDonalds restaurant in Warwickshire who was stunned to witness a frightening Halloween stunt in the drive-thru section involving fictional serial killer Michael Myers.

The customer reported families screaming and taking cover inside the restaurant as the figure in a boiler suit, mask, and carrying a realistic looking knife, stalked around the car park outside.

A spokesman for McDonalds later apologised for any upset caused by the Halloween stunt and added that it had raised £300 for charity.

Our informant will receive payment for bringing us the story and you can read the full story by following the link below.

Phil Chatburn contacted us annoyed that his Nissan Navara half-truck had mysteriously clocked up more than 2,000 miles and hundreds of pounds worth of damage while it was in the garage for repairs.

He was not satisfied about the garage’s response after complaining and decided to make the issue public.

We were pleased to help and placed his consumer story in the Daily Mail. As a consequence the garage agreed to foot the cost of repairs to the dents and scratches on the car. You can read the full story by following the link below.

If something newsworthy or amazing has happened to you and your car don’t hesitate to contact us on 07770965756.

Phil Chatburn's Nissan Navara had travelled the equivalent of a journey to Istanbul or two thirds of the way to New York during an unexpected five-month spell at the garage.

One of our recent stories concerned the disturbing ordeal Jade McEwen, 28, was subjected to when she gave birth to her son.

Jade, from Essex, had an emergency caesarean birth but could felt excruciating pain while she was awake during the operation. She described the experience as being ‘like a horror film.’

She took legal action against the health authority concerned and seven years later won £100,000 in compensation.

We placed the story with The Sun newspaper, and you can read the full account of what happened to Jade by following the link below.

One of our latest stories put a smile on everyone’s face.

Nigel Walsh told us how he had never been to a dentist in his 62 years of life. He brushed his teeth four or five times a day after eating as he didn’t like the taste of food to linger in his mouth.

But more importantly perhaps, he had never eaten sweets as his family didn’t have much money when he was young, so they were never ‘a thing.’

It served him well until one day earlier this year he woke up with a raging toothache and had to visit the dentist for the first time ever. Unfortunately, he lost one of his prized teeth and had it extracted by an emergency dentist. He is now awaiting his first ever check-up appointment having enrolled with an NHS dentist ‘but doesn’t expect to ever go again after that.’ Nice work Nigel.

Most new mums and dads will know the feeling.

The energetic kids have been playing up all day with their incessant demands for food and attention and you just need a moment's peace for a nap.

And this adult male lion is just the same as he stretches out for a bit of rest and relaxation, clasping his giant paw over his face as if in
exasperation.

It had been a tiring day. The cubs had been pestering him to take part in their mischievous games all day.

The only respite he got was when the lionesses in the Black Rock Pride at the edge of the Masai Mara game reserve in Kenya spotted from their vantage point a stray buffalo on the plain below and went in for the kill.

They came back to get the cubs and took them off to fill their stomachs before going back to the Black Rock. Some were still hungry though, feeding milk from their mum.

The male lion had had enough of their antics by that time and took the opportunity for a lie down.

Photographer Andrew Morkot, 54, a business consultant from Gateshead said: 'The location is very much like in the famous scenes from the film Lion King. Disney couldn't have done it any better.'

Mr Morkot, who had been on a safari photography trip, went on: 'The cubs try to maintain their relationships with the adult males all the time by playing with them and approaching them.

'I think it all got a bit too much for the adult male in the end and he had to have a lie down with paw over his face.'

He added that there were six lionesses, two adult males, and nine cubs in the pride currently.

We were contacted by Daniel Jeffery, 47, a one-armed cleaner, who was upset that he had been taken off a contract cleaning the offices of Basildon Council.

Mr Jeffery, who once came third out of 4,000 cleaners in an industry award scheme, said one of the council managers supervising his job had taken a dislike to him and started referring to him as ‘bandit,’ as in one-armed bandit.

The council then wrote to the bosses of the private firm Mr Jeffery is employed by, insisting that he should be taken off the job. Mr Jeffery had to be reassigned to other tasks, this time in London.

Mr Jeffery had his right arm amputated above the elbow after a motorbike smash in 1999, but had bravely fought against his disability and did well in his cleaning job.

We were happy to help him get the story out there and placed it in The Sun newspaper who gave it a good show.

You can read the full story below and if you have any stories about how you have been badly treated at work, perhaps because of a disability, feel free to contact us on 07770965756.

Everyone loves dogs don’t they? And this story about a handsome pooch called Duke ticked all the boxes.

Duke, a crossbred stray, was languishing on Death Row in a Romanian dog shelter until a charity called Rommi Rescue brought him to the UK.

He ended up in the ownership of Clare Gallacher, 51, who lives in Lincolnshire.

Duke thrived with his new family which included Clare’s three children and four other dogs.

So much so that Clare entered Duke in the most handsome crossbreed category at the world famous Crufts dog show – and Duke won!

We placed the story in the Sunday People newspaper and you can read the full account by clicking on the link below.

This was an excellent spot by one of our correspondents.

Chat show host Jonathan Ross’s E-type Jag car had unfortunately broken down in Camden, London, and regulars from a local pub came out to help him push it.

The 61-year old celeb was wearing a Vicky Pollard-style get up which included a garish Gucci tracksuit, a leopard skin cravat, and matching shoes. It was a sight to make your eyes sore.

If you spot any celebrities out and about doing their thing, don’t hesitate to get in touch with your photographs. The correspondent who took the Jonathan Ross pics was paid well for his efforts.

You can get in touch by calling us on 07770965756.

Our latest story in The Sun newspaper illustrated how the catch-all nature of the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) charging system in London can lead to unfairness.

Shop owner Djamel Djema, 49, was charged the £12.50 ULEZ fee even though his Ford Luton van was on the back of a recovery truck at the time.

When he complained to Transport for London he was initially told that he still technically owed the fee because his van was moving, albeit not under its own steam.

Djamel contacted us pointing out the ludicrousness of the situation and we agreed. So we place the story in The Sun newspaper.

You can read the full story below and if you have come across any barmy ways in which the ordinary citizen has been unfairly treated, don’t hesitate to contact us on 07770965756.
