Lovely afternoon in the studio recording some beautiful cello parts with Helen. The session was for a track by Nicole Burke, who joined us live on Zoom from the States along with producer and engineer Matthew. Always great having everyone linked in and creating together, even from across the pond.

For the tech side, I went with two spot mics, the KM184 and the Coles 4038, to capture all the detail and character. I also set up a stereo room XY pair using AKG 414 XLS to give the recording a nice sense of space.

A really lovely session all round.
