COP26 saw hundreds of thousands of people come together in Glasgow to have their voices heard and to get the attention of world leaders and influential industries.
I (Tom) captured this film on ‘The Global Day of Climate Justice’ on Saturday 6th November where over 100,000 people took to the streets of Glasgow for the climate march, along with millions worldwide.
The atmosphere, energy and passion was incredible and felt like a historic moment.
The thing that stood out to me the most was the diversity of people marching in unity, with the common goal of saving our planet.
But how do we make this, not just a milestone, but a catalyst to reversing and tackling the impact of climate change?
We chatted with just before she jumped on her train home and she said “…ultimately despair isn’t going to save us; collective action, and hope and determination, to build something better, that’s what’s going to save us” and we couldn't agree more.
Here in Nottingham, we’ve made the commitment to become the first carbon neutral city in the country, reaching this target by 2028; which is incredible and something to be proud of, and we know with collective action and determination that we can do it, not because we have to or even want to but because we should.
As My Town Vision we are committed to being a helping hand to make this happen, and we will listen and support where we can, and change where we should.
We’ve got this.
