The Day My Life Changed Forever (Part 1)
I never believed that a normal day could completely change the course of someone's life.
Until it happened to me.
It was a rainy Tuesday morning. Nothing felt unusual. I woke up late, rushed through breakfast, grabbed my bag, and left the house without thinking twice. If I had known what was waiting for me that day, I would have stayed in bed.
The streets were unusually quiet.
As I walked toward the bus stop, I noticed an elderly woman sitting alone on a bench. She looked worried, constantly checking the road as if she was waiting for someone.
Our eyes met for a brief second.
I smiled politely and continued walking.
A few minutes later, my phone vibrated.
Unknown Number.
I ignored it.
A few seconds later, it rang again.
Unknown Number.
Something about it made me uneasy.
Curious, I answered.
"Hello?"
Silence.
Then a shaky voice whispered:
"Don't go where you're going."
I froze.
"What?"
The line went dead.
My heart started racing.
I stood there staring at my phone, convincing myself it was probably a prank call.
But then another message came through.
"Turn around."
I slowly looked behind me.
The elderly woman from the bench was gone.
The bench was empty.
A cold chill ran through my body.
I quickly scanned the street.
Nothing.
No sign of her.
No sign of anyone.
Just rain.
Trying to calm myself, I told myself I was overthinking things.
I got on the bus and sat near the back.
A few stops later, a man wearing a black hoodie boarded and sat directly across from me.
Out of all the empty seats on the bus...
He chose the one facing me.
He never looked away.
Not once.
Every time I glanced up, he was staring.
Watching.
Waiting.
When I finally reached my stop, I got off quickly and headed toward my destination.
A few minutes later, I noticed footsteps behind me.
Slow.
Steady.
Following my pace.
I turned around.
The man in the black hoodie was there.
My stomach dropped.
I walked faster.
So did he.
I crossed the street.
He crossed too.
At this point, I knew it wasn't a coincidence.
I pulled out my phone to call someone.
That's when another message appeared.
From the same unknown number.
"He's not the danger."
I stopped walking.
My hands trembled.
If he wasn't the danger...
Then who was?
Before I could think, a black car suddenly pulled up beside me.
The rear window rolled down.
A voice from inside shouted my name.
Not only did they know who I was...
They knew exactly where to find me.
And what they said next made my blood run cold.
"Get in. We don't have much time."
