30th August:

Well well well, at the final day, with a great person. First of all, do you see the passion that is enshrined into this picture. You think a performance like this can be missed. Sul, I do not know what Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey note you was trying to hit, but listen to me big fella. Your next show I need you to do this again!

Reigning in from Leeds are captaining the straw hat pirates, Sul is an up and coming music artist that has plunged into the deep end of the rapping world. After studying music, smacking some percussion instruments and being a part of a band, Sul has recognised that he has and always has been one of the certiest rappers in West Yorkshire! The guy is an artist! Certified! Out of this world! Sensational!

“Younger Days”, a musical reminiscent rendition of his childhood days. Alluding to Beyblades, Knock a door run, and there PS-won. If you’re born in the 90’s, he has encapsulated peak reality as a young adolescence, practically going out and having fun. Truly a lovely tune to bop your head to and go back to a time where life was a little bit easier.

To then be compared with the tune “Vessel” a very real and personal composition of (although young) many obstacles that Sulameshi has faced over the times. In a way this track somewhat plays like a personal rant to oneself, depicting the harsher reality of what life portrays itself to be.

Do you see the contrast in the two songs?

The boy is ahead of his time, that juxtaposition can not be taught! And he waited until 2021 to bless our ears. Selfish if you ask me. Sul I do not know what tracking you’re performing in the second picture, but I will pay you 20 racks to do it again, live, in Nottingham.

A very dear friend, and although last, by far from least. Go check him out, follow him and look out for new music. The guy is super great at what he does.

30 Days of Friends:

27th of August: .radio

“Made in Leeds, enjoyed worldwide.” Sable is a creative studios, radio + production company. To jumpy live sets Sable radio really does it all. Acting as a platform for all types of people to showcase their talent at the highest level!
And do not get me started on the opportunities they present, just last year they launched the initiative “Resound” which was an opportunity for 4 young black individuals to pursue a career in radio and creative industries. Awarding the select few professional mentorship, paid work and £1000 grant to work and develop on a project of their own.

But that is not it, the parties they pull off is only a sentiment to their greatness. Some people have regarded them analogous to Coachella, and looking at their videos, I personally think Sable is better. They have 2 more upcoming summer parties in August, 7th and 20th. Check their instagram and see their past motives. Weather it be indoor or in a car park nothing but vibbbeezzzzz!
The Sable parties are easily the best nights in Yorkshire and you’re silly if you have ever been on the fence to go! This is your sign to go! Book a ticket! My Lord!

They’re also working on a prospectus for current students, a black freshers guide for young bright eyed black people new to the city.

Written by past students and members of the community “things you wish you knew, when you was studying in Leeds” this will cover a multitude of topics varying from serious money saving, to finding an emergency barber who can do that taper fade on a Friday night just before the function. They got your back!

If yourself or someone you know is considering studying/moving to Leeds, Sable is a great account to follow if new to the city and want to meet some wholesome people.

In no way am I keeping the best till last, it’s only the 26th but boi. Sondliwe is the peoples champ!

The Group Leader if you will (if I am trying to stay on trend). I share one group chat with this guy, if sondliwe don’t speak everyone is on vacation!

An artist, a poet, musician, selecta, professional asda high jumper. Sondliwe P is 1000 things and more that can’t be put into an instagram caption. But we will try. Currently on the road to hair growth and being the number one uncle in 2022. Sondliwe is a culmination of Bernie Mac, Andre 3stacks and John Coltrane. A talented painter who has created and personified his own genre of illustration which he makes 1 of 1 commissioned pieces. Focussing on a more abstract style of art and design Sondy has truly mastered a method of illustration that exudes his own originality and design. Finding harmony within the exploration of perfection enshrined in imperfection, his pieces have tend to be snapshots or recreations of times in his life which has shown a semblance of significance to him.

And in the midst of all that, he has incorporated essences of his poetry within his paintings. One of his first exhibitions, SOIL, was a rendition of drawings which curtailed around the question

“What has been the soil instrumental to my bloom?”

The guy answered the question in an amalgamation of paintings of which conveyed specific fragments of ones life. The guy is box office! I promise you, we living in 2022, Sondliwe living in far far in the future.

Recently just visited the homeland of Zim, so I know he is all types of inspired. Give him a follow and support the independent brother. Nothing but love to him and we are super excited on whatever he is working on next.

Can’t lie, been an avid admirer from a far but you see these two, The Northhaze, I really don’t want you lot to think I am exaggerating when I say this, but everything they do, perfection *chefs kiss*.

Everything, not a a single foot is placed incorrectly and you just have to applaud them for that. Music, videos, promo, avirex modelling. Legit everything they touch is gold.

I know is not apart of Northhaze, but you need a shoutout too! If these two are involved and Isaac is on the camera. YUH! Black Excellence right thurrr!

The specialist rap duo that reside in leeds culminating sounds and lyrics only a seasoned music lover can truly get into. I remember asking Kamal who’s the biggest artist(s) in Leeds they guy told me Northhaze and slapped me for not knowing. Kosi and Swish (two of the hardest names btw) compliment each other with their alternative rap styles. Ying and Yang, Bun and Cheese, Kosi and Swish, both of these guys are elite at tag teaming on a track and giving you some of the best music you will ever listen too. Which is hard to do! Some people struggle doing it on their own, imagine doubling that and always keeping the quality of music 11/10.

And do not get me started on their videos. I dare you lot to watch Lights (VisualiZer) or RIP Limewire. Bro. These two are differently clear, looking like they got the same budget as TDE!

You know how I said these guys do everything perfect, they did a photoshoot for their class of 21’ with their distinctive signature Forest Green Hoodies.

They’re sold out ofc,

but! the ex*****on of that. Perfect. Just dropped on the TL with the best merch money can buy.

Boys, you two are truly truly great at what you do, and we can’t wait to see what is next to come.

Yooooo! Big big large up to designsbydemi, a digital artist based in the great City that is Nottingham doing one of one illustrations starting with her friends but has now branched out to a much larger audience. Demi has curtailed a style unique to her and provides different images captured from pictures or videos. Maybe Travis Scotts biggest fan, I am actually surprised he has not noticed some of the illustrations but any notable celebrity or influencer might have received one of these 10/ten drawings.

Working with the likes of the nations real Love Island Winners Dami and Indiyah, Anna Paul and Glen Thomson and Ndubz she really does go all the way. A perfect gift for your significant other, or a lovely sentiment with a group picture of all your friends. She can tailor to anyone, you just need go give her a shout!

Works well with brands and logo designs, Designsbydemijo is a great way for start up businesses looking to find their own unique look. Honestly a very hardworking individual and quick to support anyone who is starting from the group up. Give her a follow as she is involved in giveaway illustrations which could work perfect with you and some friends!

I am still waiting for mine Demi, me and Aunty Pam when she says “Im in a fridge! In Aldi!”
