This post is not about judging another nail technician.

I don’t know what training she had, how much experience she has, or what circumstances led to this set.

What I can do is look at the result in front of me and ask:

What went wrong here?
What choices could have been different?
What knowledge was missing?

And that’s the part I care about.

Because dual forms are not bad.
They are a tool.

But like any tool, they only work well when you understand how to use them, how to choose the right size, how much product to place, where the structure should sit, and when the technique needs to be adapted.

That is exactly why proper training matters.

Not because training makes you perfect overnight.

But because it teaches you how to assess, understand and make better decisions instead of simply repeating steps.

I’m not interested in tearing another nail tech down.

I’m interested in understanding why a result happened so we can all learn from it.

Because the goal should never be:

“Who did this wrong?”

The better question is:

“What can we learn from this?”

And that is the kind of nail education I want to keep sharing here. 🤍

I think sometimes we put way too much pressure on ourselves after training.
We take a course, learn a new technique and somehow expect ourselves to be able to do it perfectly straight away.
And when we can’t?
We start questioning our skills.
But learning something and mastering it are two completely different things.
A course can give you the knowledge, show you the correct technique and help you understand why you’re doing what you’re doing.
But the confidence?
The control?
The consistency?
That comes with practice.
And I’m saying this as someone who has made this mistake myself. 🙋🏻‍♀️
I used to practise techniques before attending the course because I thought being prepared would help me.
Sometimes, all I was doing was giving myself habits that I then had to unlearn. 😂
Now I look at training differently.
I go there to learn.
I ask questions.
I understand the WHY.
Then I go home and practise what I’ve been taught.
So if you’ve recently completed a course and your work still doesn’t look exactly how you want it to…
Give yourself time.
Your educator may have done that technique hundreds or thousands of times.
You’ve just started. 🤍
Training gives you the knowledge. Practice builds the skill.
Save this for the next time you’re being a little too hard on yourself. 🤍

A little update to my opening hours from September 🤍

Until now, I’ve had a gap in my working day to allow me to do the school run.

As my routine is changing, I’m now able to reorganise my diary and work continuously throughout the day instead.

This does mean that my start and finish times will look slightly different on some days, so please take a moment to check the new opening hours above — especially when booking future appointments.

If you already have an appointment booked, your appointment time remains the same unless I contact you directly.

Thank you for always being so understanding as I make little changes to find the best balance between running my business and family life. 🤍

If your first reaction to lifting is “I need a stronger product”, this is for you.

Because retention problems don’t always mean your gel is wrong.

Sometimes the problem starts much earlier.

It can be in the way you assess the natural nail, how you prep it, how much product you place, the structure you build, how you cure, or whether that system actually suits the nail in front of you.

And this is where a lot of nail techs get stuck.

They keep changing products when what they really need is to understand what caused the failure in the first place.

Good retention isn’t one magic step.

It’s the result of lots of small decisions made correctly throughout the service.

That’s the difference between following a routine and actually knowing how to troubleshoot your work.

If you’re new here, hi — I’m Andreea. 🤍

And if you’ve been here for a while, you probably already know that I’m the person who needs to understand WHY before I’m happy doing anything. 😂

I didn’t start my nail career knowing exactly where it would take me. I learned through clients, courses, mistakes, changing my mind, questioning techniques and probably overanalysing more sets of nails than I’d like to admit.

But somewhere along the way, something changed.

I stopped wanting to simply know how to do something.

I wanted to understand why it worked.

Why does this client have perfect retention while another experiences lifting?

Why does this structure work on this nail but not that one?

Why are we following a step just because somebody taught us to do it that way?

And that’s become a huge part of the educator I am today.

I don’t want to teach you how to copy my work.

I want to teach you how to think through your own.

To look at the nail in front of you, understand what it needs and have the confidence to make your own decisions — without constantly wondering if you’re doing it “right”.

This page is where I’ll share the techniques, the mistakes, the things I’ve learned and, most importantly, the WHY behind what we do.

Happy 16th anniversary to the man who took my traumatised ass and somehow loved me through every version of myself. 😂❤️

I genuinely can’t believe 16 years have passed. When we chose each other, I don’t think either of us could have imagined just how full our life would become.

Full of love, chaos, children, dreams, arguments, laughter, struggles, growth and so many memories.

You’ve seen me at my best and my worst. You’ve watched me fall apart, rebuild myself and become the woman I am today — and somehow, through it all, we grew up together.

Our marriage isn’t a perfect love story. It’s a real one — two imperfect people choosing each other again and again as life keeps changing us.

16 years later, I still choose you and this beautiful, crazy life we’ve built together.

Happy anniversary, my love. ❤️
