Meanwhile in the UK… 🇬🇧☀️

“It’s too hot.” 🥵

“I like it warm… but not this warm.”

“It’s unbearable.”

A few days later… 🌧️

“Where’s the sunshine gone?” ☁️

“Oh, it’s too cold!”

“I miss summer already…” 😂

Us Brits in a nutshell… We wait all year for summer, then spend the whole time complaining about it! 🇬🇧🤣

💙 Some memories stay with us forever. 💙

This touching message from Vicky Pattison to her Grandad is a reminder of just how much dementia impacts families across the UK.

Throughout June, the Alzheimer's Society Forget Me Not Appeal is helping raise awareness, fund vital support services and bring hope to those affected by dementia.

Every Forget Me Not badge represents a loved one remembered, a family supported and a future where no one faces dementia alone.

Please consider showing your support and wearing your Forget Me Not badge with pride. 💙🌼

❤️ The Power of Hospital Radio ❤️

What a wonderful story and a fantastic example of the difference local people can make.

A huge well done to Jayne Fisher for raising £50 through the sale of her handmade greeting cards in support of BHBN Hospital Radio. 👏

Hospital radio is so much more than music. For many patients, it provides companionship, comfort, familiar voices and a connection to the outside world during what can often be a difficult time.

Behind every broadcast is a team of dedicated volunteers giving their time to bring smiles, entertainment and support to patients and the wider community.

It's inspiring to see listeners like Jayne giving back and helping ensure this incredible service can continue.

Well done, Jayne, and thank you for supporting your local hospital radio volunteers. ❤️🎙️

🎉 A Huge Thank You to Listener Jayne Fisher! 🎉

Jayne, one of our lovely listeners in Lincoln, recently raised £50 for BHBN Radio by making and selling her own handmade greeting cards

She popped into the studio on Sunday to hand over her donation — what a wonderful way to support BHBN hospital radio and help us keep sharing music, smiles and connection across Birmingham hospitals and the community 🎶

From everyone at BHBN — thank you, Jayne! 🌟

💙 Natalie Cassidy’s new BBC documentary Caring Together is definitely worth a watch.

It gives a real insight into the world of care, nursing and support work — the emotional side, the challenges, the pressure and the compassion behind roles that often go unnoticed ❤️

And it also highlights something really important…
the power of human connection.

That’s why hospital volunteers, hospital radio teams and support staff make such a difference too 💙

Sometimes it’s not just treatment people remember.
It’s the conversation.
The music.
The company.
The friendly face.

📊 Adult social care in England employs around 1.5 million people
📊 The sector still faces over 150,000 vacancies
📊 Thousands of NHS volunteers help support patients and hospitals across the UK every week

A really interesting and eye-opening watch 👏

Natalie goes back to the classroom, inspired by caring for her dad. Nerves hit on day one, but her first on-the-job work placement has a real impact.

🎙️❤️ While most are switching off this Bank Holiday weekend… Hospital Radio volunteers are still ON AIR 🏥✨

Keeping patients company.
Lifting spirits.
Making hospitals feel a little less lonely 💙

A huge THANK YOU to every incredible volunteer giving up their time this weekend 👏
