A new bridge across the River Trent at Trent Basin is moving closer to completion.

The crossing - expected to open in late spring will link new housing developments with green spaces on the south side of the river.

But the £12m project has been designed only for pedestrians and cyclists.

With congestion already affecting crossings like Trent Bridge and Lady Bay Bridge, some residents say this could have been a chance to create another road link across the Trent.

Nottingham City Council says the bridge is part of wider plans to encourage active travel and reduce car use.

💬 Do you think Nottingham needs another road bridge across the Trent?
