For a while, I genuinely thought I was the problem.

I was following the advice.
Building the pages.
Trying all the funnels.
Posting content on every platform I could.

And still… things didn’t take off.

Meanwhile, I saw other businesses pulling in results with what looked like the exact same strategies.

But what I didn’t realise at the time?
They were miles ahead.

They had audiences, teams, trust, and budgets.
I didn’t.

So when I tried to replicate those tactics with a completely different setup, of course, the results weren’t the same.

It wasn’t that the strategies were bad.
They just weren’t built for where I was.

And I’ve seen this pop up at every stage, from just getting started to scaling businesses beyond six and seven figures.

New levels, new devils or so they say

It’s easy to get stuck in that cycle of doing more... hoping it’ll unlock the next level.

But very often, it’s not about adding more.

It’s about focusing your energy on the right things.

The things that actually work for where you're at right now

If that’s what you need help figuring out, send me a DM.
I’ll help you work out where you should focus right now.

If your personal brand isn't centered in one of three categories, it's hard for people to place you and if they can't place you, they can't trust you.

And here's the thing, which of the three you're in doesn't actually matter. They aren't better or worse - they are just different and you can create a whole heap of success whichever you align with right now most right now and are likely to shift and evolve over time.

Category One is The Experimenter - They thrive through relatability.

This is for those who are stepping into a new world. You may be fresh to an industry starting at ground zero OR a seasoned expert stepping into a new modality.

Instead of trying to pretend you're more experienced, know everything and hope you can fake it hard enough to pass you can instead capitalise on your journey.

Take off the mask and bring your audience along for the ride. Share the things you're learning and experiencing, the things you tried that didn't go to plan and the great results you get along the way.

It's raw and real, your audience grows alongside you creating massive affinity and most of all you won't be amplifying your imposter syndrome

Category Two is The Everyday - They win with reliability

I get it - you've been told that only being the best of the best, high ticket mega star is the way to succeed. The truth is anyone who tells you that there is only one way is a one trick pony who lacks competence OR is lying to you to get the sale.

Take a look around you at the real world. You're not surrounded by supercars every time you blast up the motorway and Waitrose isn't the only supermarket that can get customers.

Being the everyday kind doesn't mean that you never charge high ticket prices - what it means is you don't centre your brand around a pretense of luxury and instead focus on being straightforward, honest and a fair deal. High trust and high value is the name of the game and your content should reflect that.

You know what you're doing and you get the job done.

Category Three is The Expert - They excel through renown

You'll have to forgive me for seeming to bash expert status. It's not that it's a bad thing, simply that the other two options have their own big advantages.

The beauty of expert positioning is that it creates a snowball effect by amplifying your reach to more and more audiences.

Ideally, it means your insights and impact have created recognition and you're the person others actively want to showcase to their audience through podcasts, speaking gigs, guest webinars etc.

Sometimes those opportunities are bought - let's not knock those who back themselves financially to create their own opportunities.

(I will however give a dash of side-eye to the hosts who'll take anyone's money regardless of quality).

Either way, getting seen and known as the go-to person who always has the right answers is the defining feature of the expert.

Each of the three have their own advantages. The question is - which one is right for you right now?

Take a snapshot of where you are right now.

Get clear on your income, your safety net, the work you do and the successes you've had. Most importantly - who do you have around you and how do those relationships feel right now?

How satisfied you are with life?

Then look to the future and what you need to take a step forward to where you want to be.

As Dan Meredith says… “Future you will thank you”

The idea of making sales without selling is so appealing.

So many hands rise up to jump at the chance because they aren't making sales.

Of course they aren't making sales.

One of the biggest blockers you have is comparing yourself to others.

We measure ourselves against people who have been around longer with different advantages.

We don’t know their story, challenges, frustrations and fears.

Shift your focus to compare you now to who you were.

The perspective shifts.

The wins you've had - little and large - need your appreciation. Even the mistakes you made and the lessons learned from them are valuable.
..as long as you don't make them again.

“You have so much potential”

Now there's a phrase that likes to pop up again and again.

It was lovely to begin with. Way back in those early days.

Those moments of recognition when family and teachers saw the possibilities of what you can achieve when you put your mind to it.

Before long those sweet words come with a taste that gets more bitter every time they emerge.

Hope for the future gives way to disappointment and guilt as they serve as a reminder of your wasted potential as the months roll by.

Before long, it embeds itself into your mind.

Because you know you're here for more.

There’s more you want to do. More you want to achieve and experience. More you want to be.

Regardless of the hand life dealt you and the challenges that come your way - you've never given up.

You’re “built different”.

You aren't the type to quit yet your resilience is only getting you so far and - if you're anything like me - you're sick of being resilient.

You're sick of surviving and wondering how much more you'll have to survive.

You're sick of working so hard only to feel like you're spinning your wheels. Forever struggling to get ahead. The to-do list keeps on piling up and half-baked projects lie abandoned in your wake.

Whilst knowing full well if you just "did the thing" and reached the finish line you'd finally be successful.

Just do the thing - if only it were so easy.

If it was so easy to do, we’d all be fit, rich and fabulous.

I'm a fraud

I didn't plan to be. It just kinda "happened"

Let me take you back and share with you how the heck that happened.

Back to when I was new to the online business world trying to figure it out.

Back to creating my Facebook group...*shudders*

Here's the thing. Some of the common advice shared now was shared way back when too.

One of those things was "Find the people in a similar place to you because you'll want to serve people just like you". So against my better judgement, I shifted focus.

I was a mum recently starting in business so you can see where that went 🤣

So I created the group, filled it with a few hundred people, posted the right things and created a space I totally didn't belong in.

Getting the response of "I want to make it accessible to everyone" to me telling someone they were making 82p per hour for their beautiful crafted products before they had taken out the cost and time for marketing, admin, delivering and other expenses did not spark joy.

It was just excuses, problems, and challenges with zero desire to actually solve said problems and ovecome said challenges.

I left the group in safe hands and ran away to join the men.

I needed to be in the right kind of space. The kind of space where progress, implementation and results happen because that's what I'm all about.

(There are now some great groups for women or lean heavily towards female in membership but way back when, wherever they existed - I didn't find them)

Colin Theriots Cult of Copy, Internet Marketing Super Friends and Caliban Darklocks Legion of Badass are a few key places off the top of my head where I sought refuge.

(Incidentally, it was Colin and Caliban's faces next to Coffee With Dan in the "recommended groups" section that led me to Dan)

Roll forward quite some time to the last few years and I still don't have a Facebook group of my own.

Yet

Time after time, I would find teams from Meta reaching out to me to invite me to work with them on various projects.

My intro would usually go along the lines of "Hi I'm Lianne and I manage Coffee With Dan and Espresso With Dan. You probably noticed I'm not a big bearded man..."

So yeah, the world-leading expert on Facebook groups who doesn't have a Facebook group - that would be me.

The fact I can say a company that has made $134 billion in revenue has paid me for my expertise is pretty awesome. Especially given I'm a single mum working from home around kids and from a completely different country.

The fact I can say that happened without me ever having to pitch, go through gatekeepers or hunt down contracts to bid on is insane.

If you have the kind of presence in the world that attracts recognition and invitation it's rather delicious.

Cutting through the noise of thousands of people and penetrating minds in a way that allows opportunities to come to you is surprisingly simple...it just takes a bit of work.

The beauty of it is it allows you to work when and how you want on the kinds of projects you love.

The good news - potentially - for you is I'm working with Dan Meredith to bring to life a program that draws from both of our skills, backgrounds, experiences, strategies, "time-collapsers" and more.

Distilled and refined into a streamlined pathway we'll take you through to create the life and business of your desire completely on your own terms.

I am dying to share more about it with you but for now, you and me will both have to wait.
