Enough is Enough: Stop the Massacres in Benue State and Across Nigeria

We, the concerned citizens of Nigeria, are deeply alarmed and heartbroken by the continued killings in Benue State and other regions of the country, reportedly carried out by armed Fulani herdsmen. The recent massacre, which claimed over 200 innocent lives, is not an isolated event—it is part of a disturbing pattern of violence that has plagued our nation for years.

This must stop.

Despite repeated outcries, the federal government’s response has been grossly inadequate. There are credible concerns that some of those behind or protecting these atrocities are known to the authorities—even sitting in the Senate and House of Representatives. This level of impunity is unacceptable in any democratic society.

We commend VeryDarkMan (VDM) for using his platform to expose this tragedy and push it into the public spotlight. It is because of voices like his that the government has started to act. But what is being done is simply not enough. Nigeria cannot afford to normalize these massacres.

We demand the following:
1. Immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the killings.
2. Transparent investigations into the alleged complicity of political figures protecting or enabling these attacks.
3. Increased security presence in vulnerable communities across Benue and other affected states.
4. Support for displaced and grieving families who have lost their loved ones and homes.
5. National recognition that this is not just a Benue issue—this is a Nigerian crisis.

We call on all Nigerians—regardless of tribe, religion, or region—to join in a nationwide protest demanding justice, security, and accountability. If we do not stand together now, these tragedies will spread further, and more lives will be lost.

To VDM, the hero of our time, thank you. May God continue to strengthen you in your fight for truth, justice, and a better Nigeria.
